    ELCD with a retro

i have a minimag rt and i want to know if a electronic frame will work with it.

Now ive heard both. in one instance this guy had a boo yaah elcd frame and said it worked fine.
now on the other side ive heard that it defeats the purpose and is very hard to crono ect. How does it defeat the purpose? Will it mess it up and make it shoot differently?
I love the retrovalve, but cant shoot near as fast as those with their cockers and electric guns. i get pinned down and am screwed.
i want a short light trigger pull. will the intelliframe do this. how long, and how heavy is the pull on one of those. overall i would rather have an electric, unless the other frames are better with the retro.

    thanks

Well it all depends, I hate to say, but I think I am prob one of the most knowledable on boo-yaahs on AO. If you have a minimag you can use your booyaah fine with it, Mako, the makers of the frame claim that they did not intend the frame to be used with a ReTro Valve. BTW please specify what you have, if you have an RT valve which is not compatible with the older classics or a ReTro, the reto does fit the older minimags, automags, etc. The booyaah can work on the ReTro, I have heard about it and I got it working to my suprise on a friends gun. I had to change an oring to get it to work. It shot fine and didn't hickup like it was with the older oring.

Prefance is all it is. Their are two main things that the ReTro and RT valves do. One is a faster recharge rate, the other is a reactive trigger. Every time you pull the trigger, the trigger pushes forward. So if you can find a sweet spot, you can actually make it shoot full auto or bursts. If you want a booyaah, it will give it a really light trigger pull, prob lighest (don't know about the hyperframe or emag), but it will give you a better pull than any mechanical trigger that I know of. The booyaah will also give you more consistencies on full auto, burst since the firing is handled electronicly instead of you.

I don't know why some would say it is hard to chrono, makes no sense. Also, it will shoot faster.

Well in all if you want an electronic frame on your gun, go with a booyaah or hyperframe, I am non expert on the hyper frame, but I am bias to the booyah, since I know how to get them working well.

The intelliframe, if I am not mistaken, is ment just for syncorizing your hopper with your gun, it shouldn't give your gun any other added functionality.

In all, I would suggest improving your skills as a player, this is the first time I have ever heard of a ReTro mag, being outshot by a cocker. As an experenced player, I see not to much of an advantage and disadvantages on both sides of an electronic grip/marker. Ill write something out for you.

    Electronic
    -More firepower
    -small trigger pull
    -adjustable

    Mechanical
    -No batteries to worry about
-simple and this makes it have less issues
    -Less to worry about

It all depends on your preferance, I like small, light, and durrable. Has all of this, the Emag is also a great gun, they have everything that a booyaah w/ retro does, minus some functionaitly, but it has a hybrid switch, which allows you to go between mechanical and electric.

Well I hope this helps, but if you are having an issue using your retro vs electronic markers and cockers, then I don't think an electronic gun will help you that much.

    Good luck!

The intelliframe has a two finger trigger and is a shorter pull than the stock frame. I use an intelli + retro valve and I can easily keep up with cockers, and am close enough to electros to not care about the few bps difference

I'd at least shoot an intelli on a retro valve to see how you like it before you go electro.

just a bit of clarification here: saying that the intelliframe is meant just for syncorizing your hopper kinda misrepresents what the intelliframe is. Frequently I hear people say that they dont want an intelliframe because they dont want the wires running to the hoppper.

The ability to eaisly install an intellifeed hopper setup with this frame IS JUST A BONUS!!!. The intelliframe is a very HIGH quality .45 style double trigger frame for the 'mags. It is designed and set up to give you one of the shortest trigger pulls possible without messing up anything in the gun. No, there is no added 'functionality' (i assume you mean electronic. . .) to the frame. It is just a completely MECHANICAL trigger frame. While being designed, the guys at AGD realized that there was a bit of a trend (in some players) to want to have their revolution spin on each trigger pull ("intellifeed'). This was primairly limited to some electronic guns (i.e. Angel) that had some eaisly installed wires and whatnot to accomplish this. AGD realized that the same thing could be acheived with a mechanial frame, by mounting a small microswitch behind the trigger rod. By hooking this microswitch up to the revolution, the hopper could be made to spin on each trigger pull. All that AGD added to their new 45 frame was a little bit of a ledge inside the frame - - - perfectly positioned with mounting holes so the customer could buy a microswitch and wires, and install it themselves without having to cut the frame up to find a place to mount it.

This little milled out space is just a BONUS to the frame, making an upgrade that some people find desirable very easy to install. thats it. The name Intelliframe came from a "name the new 45 frame" contest here on AO. - - - It was picked because it drew attention to this neat (and most likely overlooked) feature. *Sigh*. Maybe that name wasnt such a good Idea because now it seems manypeople assume that the "lil' added bonus feature" is some required installation process that results in you having wires running all over the place if you choose to put this frame on your marker.

Anyway, I know that was kinda long- - -sorry. Like i said, i've just seen seveal people making that assumption about the frame recently, and just wanted to clear the air.

        Hope this helps,

        Carl

That is why I put, "if I am not mistaken":-) Prevents from over generalizing. Well I put it down since I don't know that much about the iframe, but I do know the syncronizing is why many people by it. I use a 1x trigger frame and I love it :-p. It does feel like it shoots as fast as my booyaah, maybe even faster. I def want to get it clocked. In all just try a few things, I have never tried an intelliframe, but I have never been to much of a fan of 2x triggers. Try them both if you can, best to figure what you want on by the info we give you. This forum will def. be biased to the intelliframe, just since it was made by AGD. A lot of people will rag on the ELCD, since they do not have the knowledge on how to install and operate it, also they have prob read to many complantes. Just try both and let us know what you think. Else make an edjucated guess.

i have a retro valve on my minimag. I am a great player, i just cant pull the trigger as fast as i want, and the 11 pound trigger pull doesn't help at all. Why i asked about the intelliframe is because ive heard they have the shortest lightest pull of all the mechanical triggers. With you gun, you got a boo yaah working on a retro valve?

i also have a minimag and am trying to decide if i should but a retro valve or a electro frame. what do you think would be money better spent? the prob i have is if i spend the money on both i would almost be bettr off to go buy a new electro marker.

I've never shot an electro frame so I can't comment, but I have intelli+retro and I love it - I'm all about mechanical trigger pulls though.

All depends on what you like - you can bounce retro insanely fast. I'm sure the electro frames go super fast too though.

If I was on the edge, I guess what would tip me is that AGD won't support your electro frame.

they only support AGD products, unless they pairup with other comapines like Dye to make the grips or what not. Otherwise they don't like you putting 3rd party stuff and sending it in, the will fix it put they will charge the heck out of you.

you do have a point. i heard that they were getting pissed and not fixing stuff for free if its because of other companies stuff. Is there anything that the boo yaah frame could do to hurt the valve or anything like that?
                        thanks

I've heard people say it wears down the sear and stuff, but no first hand experience. I don't think they 'get pissed' but it's understandable that they are not going to waste their time fixing third party equipment. If you put on a piece of third party equipment and AGDs fix is to replace it with equipment they have specifically designed to work with the mag, I don't think that's unfair.

This isn't to say don't go electro, but if you're one of those people that need help with their markers, I'd go 100% AGD so you'll get free/cheap help from them when you need it.

wear on the seer doesn't matter to me. i can get a new one for like 10 bucks. im just wondering if it will in any way shape or form hurt anything on my retrovalve. thanks

I have heard of a case where someone claimed that it had wear on the sear and the bolt, I have seen very little to no wear on the sear or the bolt, for both electronic and machanical grips. In theory, the electronic might cause wear just faster because, you shoot more with it. If you shot a mechanical as much as you would shot a electronic then it should be equal ware, the more you use something relating to moving parts the more it wears, but I have not seen anyware even with the 30k+ shots I have made with the electronic frame. Though with the qaulity of a AGD bolt and sear, your gun would mostlikely be out of date before your bolt or sear wore out.

AGD will gladly fix your product, if you pay them :-)
If you have any issues with the ELCD, you can send it into mako and they will fix it for 20bux.

Well Shirow, does have a point, if you are a kid who doesn't like to mess with things, fix things and gets upset if something doesn't work right off the bat, then you should go with the iframe. However,if you are like someone like me and buy something just to go threw the heck to get it to working then this might be a fun project for you do, you always have people like me on AO and you can always call mako for help. I bought the frame, it took me 2 months to get it working, though I barely even tried and no one on AO knew as near as much as I did now on the boo-yaahs or at least no one came out :-(. Though people were nice enough to try. My only issue, was that I had an older mag, which had the old sear, which doesn't work with the booyaah. No one knew that.

Well the choice is yours, I think we prob gave you enough info, we will be telling you what to buy if you are still wishywashy :-p

                              good luck
