    Everyone please remember now that its cold out the paint gets way more brittle. That combined with low humidity really does a number on the paint. Balls breaking down the barrel are ususally because they are too fragile so paint to barrel match has to be a big concern.

    For the record I was wrong about using a tighter carrier to slow the bolt down so please go with the longest spring and loosest carrier that works.

      When I checked his paint to my barrel, it fit quite loose just touching on two points as is best. The weather was nice. The balls were brittle when you broke them in your fingers though. I know the problem was with the paint. I'm just not quite sure why it was breaking in my barrel the way it was.

      I'm surmising that one bad fitting ball caused a tight fit and resulted in a break. After that, the residue caused more tight fitting balls and thus, more breaks.
      Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
