I'll stand up for the freak! I have several backs, tips, and 2 insert sets. The thing I like most about them is when you get a new gun all you have to do is buy a new back! Of course the equation set is the same, just buy a new back. Just wanted to stick up for the freak, have fun

equation is better than the freak because the inserts are longer (more control bore), they are teflon coated stainless steel (very durable, and low friction), and they are less expnesive as a total set overall, plus you have more choices of middle/tip
freak: inserts are just anodized aluminum (my friend has actually crushed one of these on accident, and they have more friction), it has a shorter control bore, and there are 2 tip styles and a few different lengths, plus it is more expensiveProud Member Of The AO Cesspool Since 08-24-2002Comment

That would be true if the paintball were actually fired from where it was dropped in. The bolt pushes the ball into the barrel/sleeve before the air is released that is actually shooting it. That's true for all pb guns as far as I know.Originally posted by pbmanic
ive heard that having the inserts start after the ball drops in makes them not shoot as well. is this true? thanks

I would personally have to recommend the CP Pro Series Kit over the Freak. Having used and owned both I would definitely recommend the CP as it's a complete back not just a sleeve. They are durable, available in an array of colors and sizes ranging from 10"-16" covering all the more common paint sizes. I use one on my Mag and it's never looked so good and shot so nice before. (Here's a shameless plug -If it's good enough the Bob Long Ironmen, then it's good enough for me!)

They come in .685, .688, .691, .693 backs
this is the only site that i found this set that had it for the mag. but it was the cheapest anyway. http://www.paintball-discounters.com...58102510937.39
I almost ordered it for myself right now because of the price. but it is x-mas and i do have to think of others, like the woman.

Longbow looks good, the titatium back is suppose to be super slick, and since it's not a coating, it's suppose to last forever. My only problem is that it's only 2 bore sizes at the moement. I got a freak, but I kinda wish i woulda put that $200 towards a longbow.I like paintball.Comment
