      DYE-BaLLeR...

You can tell the difference between the metal and the luxfer/carbon fiber tanks even on pictures. I already eMailed Mike of CountyPaintball, and he said it is not the metal version.

Good choice, you have to remember though that you get less shots per fill on a 47ci tank than you would on a 68ci or 88ci. Then again, you can have it upgraded to a luxfer bottle with a higher fill capacity when you have the extra money.

              Sorry for the mix-up...

              DYE-BaLLeR,

I'm sorry for the mix-up, what I really meant to say was to get the SCI bottles, these are the carbon fiber ones. The luxfer is not steel, but sort of an aluminum alloy which makes it lighter than steel, but is still larger in size for the same capacity. The SCI bottles are still the better ones because they are lighter and smaller than the luxfer ones.

              blackmag,

My advise would be to get the SCI bottle version of the Flatline, yes there is a big difference in price, but it is well worth it. If you are trying to save $$$, then just get the luxfer bottle version. If in the future you find it heavy or the 47ci fill capacity is not enough, you can always have the bottle replaced with a 68ci or 88ci SCI bottle. This might end up costing you more in the long run though. So if it was up to me, I would just wait a little longer and save up a bit more so I can just go straight to the SCI bottle version of the Flatline.

                    Dudes,

Luxfer is a manufacturer of pressure vessels. Again, Luxfer is the brand name of a company that makes the tanks. Luxfer makes carbon fiber wrapped aluminum bottles, fiberglass wrapped aluminum bottles, just plain 'ol aluminum bottles. They also make a whole slew of other vessels, like SCUBA tanks, etc. etc. They sell their tanks to various manufactureres of regulators. For instance, I have a Pure Energy 88/3000 HPA preset system. The bottle (tank) is made by Luxfer. www.Luxfercylinders.com

I also have a 68/3000 AGD Flatline and an 88/4500 MacDev Conquest adjustable air systems. Both the bottles on those systems are made by Carleton (NOT a Luxfer bottle on the Flatline!), another manufacturer of pressure vessels. http://www.carltech.com/

Like I said, the tanks, which are aluminum, are then wrapped with carbon-fiber, then epoxied. This makes them very strong, lightweight, and resilient.

I hope this clears up a few things with you guys.

If your Field will do 4500 refills get a 4500 tank the extra money is worth the 30% fewer lines you will have to stand in to get air.
