With such a huge bore, just about any Medium to Large size paint will do because you want the ball to fit somewhat loosely so it'll spin, but not SO loose that it just drops right through unincumbered. It'd be worth mentioning that the Lapco Bigshot I use is step-honed, and only the frontmost inch or so is actually .697 of an inch. I swear by RPS Premium, and have had no problems.

Here's a link to a page where you can see the relative sizes of different manufacturers' paintballs:

There are some great articles under Tom's Tech Tips on automags.org regarding spinning paint and barrel/paint size matching. Here's the link:

You won't find a CHEAP Z-Body anywhere really, but you'd probably get your best deal either here on automags.org through the classifieds forums, or on a paintball auction website. I paid a little over $200 for mine including the barrel thru eBay a couple years ago, but I got lucky.

Someone said theirs was a bit too big for the body, but overcame this by using a little sand paper on the end of the bolt. Others say they have not had a problem with it. I am actualy having one installed on my gun right now... so it better work!

i always wanted one, but if u did it right, u could take a sluggo, and put ball detents or whatnot like 3 in a row right where the ball starts to accelerate and it would creat a just as good, if not better effect.

Always heard they're crap? Not really, no. They do work! Lower velocity than everybody else on the field, but they do exactly what you should expect it to do. And a large bore barrel is something everybody should have any ways, for those really humid and hot days when the freak kit runs out of sleeves and you still need a bigger bore.

If you think it's worth the money, then go right to it. There's no permanent modifications, so if you don't like it you can always slap the valve and such all back on the stock body.

Aut, to adjust the backspin there is a knob just at the breech. Turn in to increase spin, turn out to decrease. Paint feeds in the feed neck, and when the bolt cycles it will push the paintball foreward...the ball will then drag on this little nub that's on the top of the breech, causing it to start spinning backwards. As long as you don't overadjust it, it works fine.

Detents give too much. They're strong enough to hold a paintball in place from gravity, but I would doubt it has enough strenth to cause any backspin. It's only a doubt though, a stock detent that is. Put in a stiffer spring if you must!

I am considering selling my Z-body. Email if interested.

Brand new hyperframe, in fact picking it up this afternoon.
                    Black Z-body
                    Classic Valve
                    Large Bore SP AA barrel
                    Drop, QD, Foregrip
                    Email for pics

The absolute least I would consider is $500, open to trades.

I am not real interested in parting it out.

Would consider trades though, electronics only.
