Im glad people are thinking along these lines....
I was afraid that I was asking a stupid question!

What about ball breakage in such a large container? Once its not entierly full wouldnt the balls move more and thus increase the chance of breakage?

I'm a back player so my prototype holds a full case. I don't want to give away my hard earned secrets, but I will say I have different designs for different players; i.e. a front player pack mounts on the chest and holds 500. This unit is as easy to reload as pouring paint on the ground, the entire top opens and you just dump. The real miracle is making something push paint up a 14 inch pvc pipe at a rate of 30 bps. I purchased some parts that will double the output but I'm not a machinist so every mod costs the price of an old chevy. I'm 50 from the ricochet factory so maybe I can get their attention. If I can figure out how to load video in here (I've seen it done.) I'd like to show a demo.

If you have a digital video I can host it for you, then you can just link to it.

That would be cool! I'll try to rig up something this weekend. I'm thinking maybe some clear tubing in a loop so it will feed itself from the output. I wonder if the paint can handle being recycled. I'll also attatch a yard stick to show how long the tube to the gun can be.

After refining the proto I ran the same 50 balls through the system for two days. Finally one broke and I've only used fresh paint since. In the years I've used this system after refining the proto I've neve had another breakage. (I should mention it has never been attatched to a marker. Since I have no electronics for it it only has two modes on and off.)

I'll answer your next question to save you the trouble of typing. I have a slippage system which prevents breakage even if the pack is full throttle and the hose is plugged. I ruined a lot of towels perfecting this system. I'm thinking about producing them myself but I could buy a warp for much cheaper than it costs me to build a turtle pack. Maybe some pro teams would be interested in custom one offs.

What is the hose made out of? I see the smashing of the hose into the ground/bunker, then possible jams, paint in barrel and through marker, and one nasty cleaning job. You probably need somthing a little tuffer than the warp hose.

The hose was by far the worst part of this project! One was too stiff, one had too much friction, one collapsed too easily. Right now I'm using some kind of pump hose from the marine section of wall mart. I don't play for money so you'll probably never see me dive. If anything more than a knee slide is required I'll probably take the hit. So I haven't given the subject much thought. The back pack sends the hose directly over the shoulder of your choice and the hose travels across the upper left or upper right of your bicep and forearm. Velcro will hold it in place.

Don't write me off on the video yet Hexis. The military just ordered 2000 modems so my boss won't let me go home.
