    My LX is not normal

Most people say they use something around a #2 carrier, 2 shims, and the medium spring.. but I cannot do that.

When I got my marker in the mail, I was very tempted to put my finger in the breach and pull the trigger... but i took a precautionary measure and stuck a pen in there first... it got chopped in half.. thank god it wasnt my finger.

2 tanks of air and countless hours later, I came to the conclusion that my LX was NOT normal.

    My setup was thus:
    Carrier #1
    4 shims (no leaks)
    smallest spring....

I My smallest spring can go to anywhere between 200 and 330fps(maybe higher, thats all that I took it).. the other springs require way too much pressure.. the lowest I can get the mid spring is 320 fps.

It was hitting much softer now, It felt like it would stop on any paint... and best of all-- no bolt stick. I thought I had perfected it.

This weekend I went to play, bought a case of evil paint.... and ended up chopping 2 in game out of 900 rounds throughout the day (after the first time the marker was thoroughly cleaned)... Whats that all about? I thought it hit soft? The rest of the day I held my finger speed back.. Anywho, my gun started a small barrel leak.. I thought it was lube, but I lubed it up, and it still leaked.. nothing bad though, I'd just fire a few rounds and the problem was gone.

At the end of the day of play, I decided to open up onto a wall (it was an indoor place) to drain my hopper.. and to show off the speed of my mech.. I wasn't showing off when my marker turned into a blender (I have a 12v w/x board.. need something better).. i sweetspotted and chopped 2-3 consecutive balls.. turned into a mess.. put it in my car, and when I got home I washed the ENTIRE gun b/c paint had fallen through rail, intelliframe etc.. it was messy.

When I put my marker back together it leaked heavily out the barrel.. I took the valve out to inspect, and it seemed like the carrier wasnt connect with the bolt. I thought this very weird.. the carrier did not fit at all anymore, the carrier would fall right off the bolt when i tested it.. I guessed the o-ring was now broken in, and dismissed the problem. I moved down to the #.5 carrier, and it would stick very badly when it it became obstructed.... so I threw my fifth and final shim in there.. and it still sticks pretty bad (but oddly enough it still doesnt leak)

What is going on? Im out of shims, have no carrier that fits, and am stuck with only one usable spring... Did I get a defective LX kit? It just seems that something is NOT RIGHT at all with this bolt... can somone please help?!?!

Have you tried using no shims and some oil since you dropped down to the .5 carrier? I use the middle spring largest carrier doesn't leak and go shim-less!

Yes, I have oiled since the change. If I moved to the middle spring, my velocity would have to be way to high. If I took out the shims, it will stick like mad.. (right?)... What I was trying to say is that my .5 carrier is too tight, and my #1 carrier leaks real bad.

I don't run shims at all.

You may just need to take a new oring and start over. Sometimes it just happens. Orings are little creatures and have their own way of doing things.

Try adjusting the torque on the field strip screw. Some guns require the field strip screw to be just hand tightened to keep the bolt from sticking and others require you to fully tighten it with an allen wrench.

Too many shims!!! try 1.5 carrier and two shims, medium spring. Also try a new o-ring.

Ok... the #1 carrier is way too loose, so there is no way the 1.5 will work.. As mentioned before.. the middle spring is way too high of a velocity. The shims do not pose problems with bolt stick. They help it.

I have no extra o-rings with my kit.

                  Did you read my suggestion?

                  Get extra o-rings.

I tried the thumb screw thing and it didnt work. I set it down for the night, the next day I played around with it and it didnt stick anymore.. odd.

She still hits very hard.. I just bought a halo, but I would still like to have the lvl10 as a backup...

Also... where can I get those size 8 orings? not even my shop had one.

Speaking of... I just took my RTP out and sweetspotted with my halo... well, the halo cant keep up

No, they werent barrel breaks, they were definate chops. It got pretty messy. Therefore I definately need to get this thing tuned. I really need to get some new carrier o-rings, but I cant figure out where I can get them (as my local shop does NOT have them)

I havent been too pleased with the LX as of yet.

So you had it working and took it apart and put level 7 back in?

AGD has the o-rings you need. You can order them seperately or you can order an o-ring kit.

use the largest carrier that doesnt leak (once the o-ring is broken in), and don't use any more shims than what is necessary to correct bolt stick

right now i'm running the 1.5 carrier, 3 shims, and a cut middle spring in my micro-e

in my retromag, i have a 1.0 carrier, 4 shims, and a cut middle spring also
