Im haveing similar issues, BUT with middle spring It doesnt chop just the occational barrel leak... this is the smallest carrier and 0-3 shimms...

it rarely leaks when I first gas it up, a few cycles with just air and it can develope a very small leak...

Im bout ready to just sent it to a tech and have them sex it up properly...LOL... or just wait till texball

The pen would definately get chopped in the bolt of an automag. The bolt is only soft at the start of the stroke. It is full power at the end of it. A pen would get hit at the end of the stroke because it is so small, allowing the bolt to get up to its full power before impact.

If your small bolt is allowing you to have a range of 200fps and higher, then at 280fps, it will have a lot of impact power. You should move to the middle red spring (or cut spring if it one of the original LX kits). If the middle spring won't allow you to get the velocity down to a usable level, then cut the spring back a bit at a time until it is ajustable in the range you need.

The carrier is probably getting broken in. You will have to drop a carrier size. If one leaks and the next smaller sticks, then change carrier o-rings. You have a bad one.

You should be able to run the gun without any shims in the LX setup at all. You can add them later (once the gun is firing properly) to make your marker operate as close to the edge of venting as possible.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Thanks Athomas.. I was actually wondering if that was the case. My problem with the o-ring is that I dont have any more... I lost the other two ... I guess I'm going to have to get them from agd. Sucks. I think I'm going to use the idea of cutting the spring, too.

Thanks for your help.. I'll keep ya posted on how it goes. Thanks guys.
