Mag venting out front very bad?

When I gas up my mag, it vents out the front very bad, the bolt moves forward and just vents air. I cannot move the bolt back with my finger at all.

What could cause this? Why isn't the sear catching the bolt?

Check if your velocity is too high. and if your sear is not catching the bolt ur gun will seem like it will go full auto.

Power Tube/Level 10 Carrier Leak. If the Ring is leaking too much... Your Dump chamber won't have enough air to fire properly.

But it's not going full auto, the bolt just sticks forward and vents.

        No shims in the LX.

Should be the smaller (inside)one in the bottom of the on/off hole.

I've got a ULT kit, So all i've got is two orings on the outside of the assembly, a white on on the top of the assembly and that LITTLE ITTY BITTY black one in the middle of the assembly.

I have no more air to diagnose this issue further, are you sure this is the problem? have you seen it before?

The mag is only 2 weeks old, been to the field once!

Shot fine all day yesterday, came home, swapped the frame out for my new logic frame. Problems started in. Put stock frame back on, same problems!

                      No not 100% sure.

Just deductive reasoning. If the L10 carriers not the cause of the leak, the next step is the on/off.If it's leaking passed the pin,the dump chamber will be constantly trying to fill pushing the bolt forward untill it vents if it's not caught by the sear. It's a little bit wierd tho based on the way you described it.

With out any air, does the bolt fully reset? If not,it may be a cut carrier o-ring.

If it does the o-ring on the L10 carrier could be leaking but it should still function with a minor leak.

With air you should be able to hold the trigger pulled and stop the leak,if not, then there's something up in the on/off for sure.

Speaking of ULT,you may want to remove a shim or 2 from there as well and see wht happens. To many shims will cause it to leak as well.

Well, then next carrier up is too loose, the next one down is far too tight.

The bolt seems to sit fine without air, it's barely peaking into the breech (where i can see a little bit of the bolt down the feed). Sometimes, it seems that when I did have air and gassed it up, my sear rod didnt push out to touch the trigger and sometimes it did.? So pulling the trigger sometimes worked, and sometimes didn't. ALthough I don't think I ever pulled it when it was venting full force (I was trying to save the air I had in the tank). Although, come to think of it,when it vents like that I do belive that the trigger was pretty much limp so it would have done nothing for me.

Talked to John from AGD today.

He said it can basically ONLY be the carrier oring, or the tank. He said screw-in tanks dont provide enough initial input pressure to move the on/off and get teh sear up in time to catch the bolt.

I find it sort of odd it's never happened before, but I guess it's a possibility. He suggested to put a straight shot up against the bolt to hold it back before I gas up the marker.

I'll give that a go next time I get air, however I find it odd nobody else that's read this post has mentioned it. What's the dilly?
