    ReTro/ XValve on c02?

I was wandering if it was possible to run an RT valve on co2 if I ran it with a palmer stab and anti-siphon 20oz co2.
I am building a mag right now, but I am using a stab with anti-siphon, and I dont get any liquid, even in the winter. Not even white smoke.
Just wandering if the valve would operate.

No u shouldnt do it. Read the instruction manuel or whatever comes with the valve. It says DO NOT USE CO2. It might work but I wouldn't try it

Well, I was wandering about why it wouldn't work, and what could be done about it. The reason I ask is that I cant get Nitro filled easily where i live, but co2 is free.
So if anyone has info on why is dosn't work, please let me know.

The RT based valves recharge so fast, that the CO2 doesn't have time to make the transition from liquid (how it's stored) to gas (how its used). Compressed air is exactly that. It's complete gas.

Secondly, the orings in the valve aren't designed to withstand CO2. So while yes, you can screw a CO2 tank into the gun, it'll fire about 3 shots before it pisses CO2 out of every seal (which will then need to be replaced).

well, as I said, I never even get white gas out of my setup. There isn't even smoke when I play in the winter. So if I were to be able to keep the liquid out of the gun, would the seals go bad because of the colder air?

As much as you want it to happen, it's not gonna.

              NO CO2. EVER.

you wont get the "smoke" with the classic valve using the palmer stabilizer, but you cant use the stabilizer on the rt valve anyway(starves the valve), not to mention, the classic valves recharge is slower, which allows it to use co2 and not have the "smoke"

Ya dude, I sympathize. I have gotten many markers that were 'HPA only' to work on Co2, but I'm saying, you're headed up a dead end trying to get an RT valve to give satisfactory results. You will get far better performance out of a classic valve on CO2 than from a RT valve on CO2.

Go buy a suba tank and fill station. It will play for it self. If you dont got the money go halfs with a friend or something.

                          Co2 is a no-go dude.
There is not enough pressure to run the marker properly ( mine runs at 850 PSI) and as stated above the Co2 will shag the O-rings and does not recharge the system quick enough to operate proerly.
Buy a pre-set screw in air system: Center flag or an ACI Bulldog 2 will work fine & there are heaps of other brands avaliable too.

As for scuba gear just head to a local dive shop and you should be able to get a cheap second hand tank ( just remember to get it "In test")

that one guy earlier on AO posted that he ran a special setup and got the c02 to run almost as good as nitrogen. I dont really have the time to go looking for that particular thread but i think it would be better to just go with nitrogen.

find a scuba shop or order 2 tanks online. I say two because it's what you'll need to get close to 3000 psi. One tank won't do it.
