I had a reactor valve in my classic. Like everyone has been saying, it doesnt NOT lighted trigger pull. All that its theoretically supposed to do is increase air flow in order to decrease shootdown. Yes, its going to decrease shootdown a LITTLE bit, but not enough to make you go, "wow i just love my reactor valve!" As for the ULT in the classic valve, you can tune it by shimming the hell outta it to work somewhat reliably and it will make your trigger really ridiculously light. With the LX you won't have to worry about chopping per se. A huge problem with running the LX in classic valve is the dramatically increased potential to short stroke. Like i said, the LX will not chop a ball so no worries, but what will happen when you short stroke is the dump chamber wont get enough air, so the next ball you fire out will not have enough pressure behind it to exit the barrel. You get the picture, if theres a ball half way down your barrel, and you fire another ball, SPLAT you got yourself a ball break in your barrel. I know this because i have a ult in my classic. If you have great control over your trigger finger, even when the guy is rushing the tape to come bunker you, then by all means get a ULT. But if you have trouble controlling your finger under stress (like me), you will short stroke a lot.
Back in the day for me (5 or so years ago), I had this other valve in my automag. Its called a Z-valve. Basically it looks similar to and replaces your stock on/off assembly. With a z-valve, your recharge rate will be a little faster AND the trigger will be significantly lighter. Now, it won't be as light as the ULT, but the good thing is that it doesnt want to short stroke as readily and no tuning is required. The downside of the z-valve is: good luck finding one!
