I had a reactor valve in my classic. Like everyone has been saying, it doesnt NOT lighted trigger pull. All that its theoretically supposed to do is increase air flow in order to decrease shootdown. Yes, its going to decrease shootdown a LITTLE bit, but not enough to make you go, "wow i just love my reactor valve!" As for the ULT in the classic valve, you can tune it by shimming the hell outta it to work somewhat reliably and it will make your trigger really ridiculously light. With the LX you won't have to worry about chopping per se. A huge problem with running the LX in classic valve is the dramatically increased potential to short stroke. Like i said, the LX will not chop a ball so no worries, but what will happen when you short stroke is the dump chamber wont get enough air, so the next ball you fire out will not have enough pressure behind it to exit the barrel. You get the picture, if theres a ball half way down your barrel, and you fire another ball, SPLAT you got yourself a ball break in your barrel. I know this because i have a ult in my classic. If you have great control over your trigger finger, even when the guy is rushing the tape to come bunker you, then by all means get a ULT. But if you have trouble controlling your finger under stress (like me), you will short stroke a lot.

Back in the day for me (5 or so years ago), I had this other valve in my automag. Its called a Z-valve. Basically it looks similar to and replaces your stock on/off assembly. With a z-valve, your recharge rate will be a little faster AND the trigger will be significantly lighter. Now, it won't be as light as the ULT, but the good thing is that it doesnt want to short stroke as readily and no tuning is required. The downside of the z-valve is: good luck finding one!

Thanks Autockr01. The Z-Valve looks like a potential Christmas present for me. That link says not recommended with CO2 though. Why? I have a nitrogen tank but I don't like it much. It's too heavy and there's no place to get it filled. If liquid was guaranteed not to get in, would it be fine?

I'm not wasting my money on the Reactor, it's included with a level ten bolt I bought off of eBay. I was deciding whether or not to install it. I'm probably not going to install this. Should I spend money on the Z-Valve if I can ever find one? Or keep my money?

                  Ok seriously Dayspring...
Yea you are knowledgeable about mags and stuff, but have you really used a z valve?? If you have used one extensively in one of your own mags and you have major complaints about it, then ok. But seriously, there are a lot of people in this world that dont have a lot of money to spend on stuff like an x valve or an expensive compressed air system or an e mag or an intelliframe or stuff like that. I'm sure that everyone wants all that stuff. I recomended a z valve mainly because ive used one and i liked it because it reliably lightened the trigger pull. I'm sure that boydster wants a bad *** mag, as do i, but whats wrong with havin a little fun along the way. I just think that its a great upgrade, at least till an xvalve. Dayspring, im not baggin on you.... i personally like to get small little stuff along the way to greatness. When i got my z valve back in the day, it made me love my mag all over again.

I'm probably not going to get an X-Valve. I really don't have the money to buy enough paint to keep up with that... lol. I guess the only things I want for this mag are the following now: Z-Valve(I guess so), ULE body, Intelliframe, and a J&J Ceramic Autococker barrel. That's probably a birthday and a Christmas after this til I can get it all though. Does that sound good considering I'm NOT going to get an X-Valve for my final set-up?

I'm going to go look for a Z-Valve right now. Thanks autockr01.

I'm not trying to rag on the j&j barrel but i have one and wouldn't waste my money on it again the bore isn't that great, personally, i'ld wait a year if i had to and get a boom stick and use a small bore paint like pro ball platinum. i'm sure some one will have some thing negitive to say about this and that's great, it shows that different things work for different people but that combo works great for me since i'm not into shooting 800 balls in a single game, not even in a 5 hour day lol. i'm a back playing person who who likes accurate shots and have the chance to play that way at my local field.

play hard and if it's not fun, it's work

Thanks. I'll look into other barrels as well was the Ceramic. I've had good luck with them though. I'm thinking of a used stiffi barrel right now.

my kids mag has a 12" or 14" ultra light from dye.
It is a VERY good little barrel and pretty accurate with most common field paints and is about the same price as your JJ or even a little cheaper...

I think that barrel is 90 bucks new.

I was thinking of a CP Classic 1 piece for 20 bucks.(used lightly) It's normally 50 dollars. Sound good?
