    Sear question

I noticed that the sear I was selling wobbled an awful lot where it and the brass thing that the rod screwed into met. The ends were sticking out, not securing the sear very well. That allowed it to wobble left and right. LMK if you know what I'm talking about or not.

I tried taking a crescent wrench and tightening it on the end for a couple of days. I just let it sit in hopes that it would stay where it should. I just tightened it and let it sit for 2 days. Still flares out.

Right now, I have two pieces, the sear and the sear rod part. If I try to install the sear onto the brass part, it bends outward and it's as it was before. How do I get it on there without it bending? Or let me say it like this, when AGD assembles them, what do they do to get them together.

That's as best as I could describe it. Hopefully all of you will know what I'm talking about. I'll take a picture of what I'm talking about if you want me to.

EDIT: I had thought that maybe I'd have to unscrew the sear rod and the gold part would seperate. But then I'd have to guess where the proper length is for the rod when screwing it back in.

Are you talking about the clevis at the end of the sear rod? You should be able to pry it apart, wide enough anyway to remove it from the sear. Once in place, you should be able to pinch it and it will stay together.

That clevis is a pretty standard part of a radio controled airplane's pushrod system, available at any RC hobby store.
    God gave you a soul.

    Keep all of them clean.

Yes, that is exactly what I was talking about. I tried pinching it together, but it still flares out. With the sear out of it, I can pinch it far enough to get it to stay where I want it but not with it in there.

        Hey Bro

How about once you get it in the right position and proper measurment use a little bit of loctite to keep it in place, but before doing this crimp it tight with a pair of pliers.

Are you saying I should remove the sear rod?

You don't have too just back it off a couple of turns make sure you keep track of it and put a drop of loctite there and turn it back to where it was. Then let it sit.

i dont think that will do anything for your problem? but try making sure that it is seated its hard to get them to seat together after that as long as its not coming off of your sear its ok leave it alone!

Is it a problem? Does that not contribute to extra wobble from the sear? And cause problems?
