AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Despite what the HPA militia will tell you, CO2 isn't that bad and will work fine on a "classic" (.68Automag) valve ... if you set it up right. For years I used an expansion chamber and an anti syphon tube in a gun mounted tank. Now I run a remote instead. You can get a classic 'Mag cheap used too ... maybe $100. If you can't get HPA where you are that would be the way I would go.
i have 2 'mags one has an X the other a micromag, and the micro runs fine on high pressure anti siphon C02(as much as i hate to use it), but the X WILL NOT run on CO2. as far as new valves im not sure but im pretty sure a classic will run (however badly) on C02
I ran into the same problem 4 years ago with a classic, not being able to find anywhere to fill a N2 Tank. I was using C02 fine in it for many games, but there were a few things needed... and a few to keep in mind.
You'll need a siphon tank, Expansion chamber... definetly. Must remember that the internals of the Mag's are nothing more than O' Rings. You don't want to freeze your O'rings. Which brings me to the other problem :), Rapid shooting. Rapid shooting and you'll literally freeze up your gun, causeing it to stop shooting basically. Then you're sitting there behind a bunker waiting for your gun to warm up... this sucks. Also, as mentioned above.. you'll have that 400 fps ball flying.
CO2 runs fine off a classic mag. Just ned to set it up right. If not mounting the tank vertically, you'll prolly need a good CO2 tolerant reg (stabby), and an anti-siphon tank. That should work for ya.
RT's can work on CO2, although its not a good idea to actually do this. I fooled around with the idea at my house, and checked things as I shot, the spiking was terrible as expected. The X valve runs excelent on a 12 gram, my assumptions is that there is not enough CO2 to freeze everything and break it all down, but thats just my assumption. Just get a classic valve man, no need for an X unless going RT or electro, waste of money imo.
DO NOT EVER USE CO2 ON AN X VALVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it says right on the rail NOT TO!!!!!!!
no matter what any one says never ever use co2 on an xValve
not even anti-siphon should be used with an x-valve
only use a HIGH PRESSURE NITRO TANK
NO CO2 EVER
