AGD Flatline Mounting Questions

Dear Experienced AO Forumers,

I am new to the Automag family and brand of markers, I have always run remote lines for my previous markers, but now I believe I am ready to keep the air on-gun, but having no previous experience I am currently completely lost, so hopefully you all can help me get my set-up working for me. Let me tell you the situation and what I hope my future on-gun-air set-up will be.

*This will all be on an AGD Tac-One for future reference if needed.

First, I am getting one of these; I don't know what kind of ASA screws (for lack of better terms) Dye uses for their 45* grips but I am pretty sure it's going to be the most universal kind or AGD's original kind, but you guys would know more about that so correct me and tell me what this style of adapter screw it uses if I am wrong (I read somewhere that AGD style ASA screws were two screws angled inward to mount drop-forwards and such so I don't know if the Dye one is different or not or if they include the screws in the grip package or the drop-forward, ASA, and such, any info on that would also be welcome).

Second, I am going to mount one of these to the Dye grip for angling the tank out of the way and using the it as a stock. As I asked before; would this item included the screws needed to mount it to the Dye 45* Grip, would I need to buy the screws somewhere else (please state where), or do they come with the grip?

And my third and final set of questions, I am adding this to my Pure Energy 45/4500 Nitro Tank, so this all leads me to ask; what do I need or how do I mount this to this? If there is something I need to purchase to connect the two please direct me to an online store's address that carries them.

First of all, forget about getting the Dye gripframe, especially if you're getting a TAC-1 (which uses a X-Valve). It's a piece of crap that's usually out of spec, which in turn causes problems getting your gun to work correctly. Stick with the stock single trigger frame or go with an Intelliframe or Y-Grip.

To connect a Flatine air system to that thing you're interested in, you'd probably have to buy an AGD drop forward .



This image is actually upside down. The horizontal holes in the drop connect to the regulator via the screws that go through the circular band that clamps around the reg. The vertical holes are for screws that go into the gripframe.

Yeah, that's the trigger frame I was referring to. Though it looks like the Tac-1 comes with an Intelliframe. But you could get it however you want I imagine - figured you were interested in a single trigger frame since you were interested in that Dye one.

I've never used an angle block before, but it sounds like that's a setup that would work.

That'd work only if the angle block has an integrated dovetail, which it doesn't look like it has from the pic that was provided.

Looks like the dove tail comes with the flatline, so Gunga is right you will need that drop.

I believe that the Flatline already has that dovetail rail installed on it for easy mounting from what I see from the pics on AGD, so what I need to find is a drop-forward that accepts dovetails attached to the angled block or have the angled block modded to fit a dovetail to make things simpler if needed. Correct me if I am wrong though, but so far it fits with what you all have been saying.

*Also; if you could, please clarify to me what is so wrong with the Dye 45* Single Trigger Frame for the Tac-One?

Meaning, for example; that the holes tapped in the Dye Frame is different than the holes tapped for the Tac-One's rail for mounting, and the sear is too big or small for firing, and all the sizes and technical crap like that is off, correct? Or what?

Most...if not all of the Dye frames I install need to be milled out deeper to allow the sear(trigger rod actually) to sit low enough without interference. After this mod they usually work great.

The Tac comes with an Intelli. Just curious, why in the world you want to down grade the frame?

I don't plan on using an AGD Warp Feed and was never one with talented fingers for fanning a double-trigger, so my reflection on this marker is 'might as well face it' and just dump the unneeded weight and space.

So I guess Tuna is to AO what Flatline's Up is to A5OG?

If you go the dovetail route rather than the AGD drop forward, I'd replace the stock AGD dovetail adapter for one from Custom Products. The AGD one is made of aluminum and will eventually crack. CP's is made of steel. But CP's adapter costs $20 and you'll still have to buy a drop forward or rail. The AGD Drop costs $15.

Nah, nothing simple like that. X-Valves are finicky about things being in spec. Dye frames are usually out of spec and cause a myriad of problems. They're so wonderful that they get mentioned in AGD's warranty: "Dye frames invalidate the warranty and will require a $65 rebuild fee".

The weight difference between an Intelliframe and the Dye would be minimal at best. The Intelliframe might actually weigh less. The Dye frames are kinda meaty. Just stick with the Intelliframe or a Y-Grip. You'll save yourself a potential headache...one that you'd be paying money to get.
