what i found is that if u actualy use a tighter bore than is the "perfect" bore the balls seem to fly a little more consistantly and some what streighter... now i did this in a cocker for the last few years and jsut stared on mags so i havent used open bolt guns for a while and am not sure how forgiving the paint will be if its slammed into a tighter barrel at the faster speed than it was pushed in a cocker.
