So I went into the shop today for prices and info and it turned out they have Crossfires starting at like $200 for 45/4500s. The biggest one they had in stock was a 70/4500 for $235. They offered to special order a 92/4500, but I declined in order to avoid the possibility of throwing up in my mouth. I'd rather not pay $300 or more for a preset tank, fill nipple cover and tank cover (after tax). I think the loyalty concept is fading a bit.

Other notables on the chopping block were Dye Throttles and Empire Fuel (an adjustable for $230? Hmmm...). Any opinions?

By the way, does anyone have any experience with the Pure Energy tanks? I was discussing splitting one of the Action Village 3-packs with my crew, since they're like $60 for a 72/3000 then.

I've used Pure Energy now for about 5 years running. And I can't say as I've ever had a problem with them, shy of an O-ring that just needed replaced. Used their steel and fiber-wraps both.

I just picked one of their 72/4500 peanuts and it's workin perfectly on my marker.

WoW they are trying to rip you off I got my crossfire 92/45 for 220. The kicker is trying to find a tank cover that fits.

I think they just have really high overhead.

Either way, I just ended up ordering one of the bulk Pure Energy 72/3000 3-packs from Action Village for $176. The rest of my crew also needed to make the conversion to air for the winter, so I figured I'd help them out. Also, with only paying $60 for the tank, it keeps my options open should I want to get something else in the future; I won't feel like I'm tied to the tank because I spent so much on it.

Well sounds like that was a better way to go for you and the "crew". And I'll admit that I originally bought two 47/3000 and sold them to help pay for the bigger.
