occasional firing problems

Ok, I have a brand new mag. Was selling it on here, but played with it yesterday, and loved it. But there was one problem. About once or twice a game, the silver piece that is connected to the sear, would not go back to the firing position. I would pull the trigger all the way in, and still it wouldnt do anything.

It eventually fixed its self with me "smacking" the back of the valve, or sometimes turning the air off then on. I am playing again in two weeks and was wondering if there was anything I could do to fix this. Thanks alot!

How old is the marker? What jumps to mind is that you need to replace your bolt spring. You could also try going to the red (mid length) spring. I have seen a marker that would have periodic problems like you describe, even with a brand new brass spring. Changing it to the red one solved the issue.

Realized that I might not completely understand your malfunction, so I'm adding this part. The other possibility that jumps to mind is that you have an input pressure problem. Make sure you are using a high pressure (800 psi or more output) tank, that you have no leaks between the tank and the valve (use a little dishwashing liquid in water - a leak will make bubbles).

I had a similar situation. Try tightening the field strip screw. use a key to tighten it snug. Don't crank it ALL THE WAY though. I had this happen when I hand tightened the field strip screw as best I could, but it was still not enough. The gun would fire, but not reset every now and again unless I hit it.

Hopefully tightening the field strip screw will solve your problem :)

Sounds like you are getting bolt stick. Tune your level 10. Remove all the powertube shims when you do this. Then use the largest carrier that doesn't leak. Always use the same carrier oring in each carrier as you change them.

I will try that athomas. But just in case it keeps doing it, im going to get a hybrid pushbutton on/off, that way it only takes like a tenth of a second to fix.

I'm also getting an occasional bolt stick on my new Mag. I understand that I need to change the carrier, but I'm not sure I understand what you're saying about the O-ring. Do I need to use the same O-ring the whole time... that is, take the O-ring off of the carrier that is in place, and put it on the replacement carrier... and then do this every time I change the carrier until I find the one that works? If so, why?

Another thing... so many of the carriers look so similar that I'm not sure I can size them up with the naked eye. Is there some way of making this easier?
