AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
better then a butane torch try a soldering iron, stinky as all heck when you melt plastic but it should get it done with almost no chance of scratching. Or if you have a welder soldering gun use that, they actually have pieces that you can use to actually melt plastic its almost like a knife through butter when they are heated up.
I have two tiny scratches on the inside of the feedneck, and a little scuff around the rim of the feedneck. I'm really thinking about the clamping mod now, just so I don't have to do this again.

Now he shoots a Mag too...
LOL get this a buddy of mine bought an Xmag used recently and the guy before him milled out the breech to accept a stock halo b/c he didn't want to sand the halo's feedneck down, wtf right? Why mar one of the rarest, most beautiful guns ever made to accept a ubiquitous piece of plastic that costs all of $30 to replace the shell. I'm trying to see about getting him hooked up with a feedneck mod route since it's already screwed up (his pulse doesn't fit either)...
Don't know why this reminded me of it but it did, bummer you scratched your breech bro but (alliteration much?) at least it's not very visible... I would've suggested you use some reverse pliers (spreaders?) and just dig them into the plastic and lift up but that's just me... if you do a clamping feed mod I'd recommend the Rouge feedneck, always thought that'd look amazing on an Xmag and I'm pretty sure (if it's a black Xmag) that the anno would match up well. Goodluck either way, maybe post some pics if and when you get that done... peace.
DO NOT torch it out, get a 100 watt soldering gun, they are cheap at radio shack and you can get weird shaped tips, plug it in, insert into hole, pull trigger, melt plastic, remove plastic, your happy, your mag is happy cuz it never got HOT.
Well, I'm going to do the clamping feedneck mod after the summer season. I found out that my other HALO had the same issue with it, where the feedneck of the HALO cracked at the top of the X-Mag Feedneck. I might just have to use my Eggy in it all summer and then use the Halo when I get the new feedneck done.
