well i got hosed on nation anyway to salvage?

ok I got what was told to me as a "MINT" pro teams micro emag and when i got it, it looked sweet as you can see in first pic.

well I ordered a nice blue rail and asa for it but work kepted me away from in for a bit. I got the chance to work on it a 2 days ago. As i try to attach the rail I find the screws are just falling in and out of the holes. I look and this is what i find,

as you can see the holes are totally striped out there is no theading left in them. Now i am worried and i start tearing the whole marker down. I get to the valve and what i find blows my mind.

ITS SAND... how the hell does sand get in a valve, and how much damage has this cause. A sand blaster works at 120psi I am scared to think what it would do at 400psi or more.

so here is the big question, can any of this be saved, can i fill the frame holes with jbweld and just redrill and retap or do i need to take it up a size. Is the valve trashed at this point or can i save it.

Any help you can give me would be great

Im no expert, but I would take it up a size, and just drill out the drop.

As far as that valve goes, I would leave NEGATIVE feedback on their end. They lied it was not mint. Regardless of whether they knew or not it was their responsibility to check it if they claimed it was mint. Make sure it doesnt work properly first though i guess - clean it out.

Ugh, typical nation antics... so irresponsible. Def try to do whatever you can to make it stick on the seller.

As for the valve I would say to clean the hell out of it, get make sure the air chamber is clean and the powertube as well. Maybe use some compressed air to blow out the passages, really nook and cranny clean it. Then be very very carefull when you air up again for the first time. Mags are built to take alot so I'd be surprised if it isn't capable of a second lifespan. Hopefully the abuse wasn't spread out over a long period of time. Get a gun, trash it and move on... seems to be common cycle for the "cool kids" and their "new sick guns."

Very sorry to hear of this. I remember seeing that marker, I thought it looked nice too... sorry you got ripped off by some jerk with no sense for how to maintain and appreciate a fine marker like that one.

      Goodluck...

Check this out for your rail mount....

            helicoil thread

Looking at the main oring on the reg, it is pretty brown in the pic. If that is so, you'll probably have more to replace.

As far as the sand goes, the only thing to really worry about on the reg would be scoring on the reg pin or on/off pin. Get a new one if it is so bad you can't polish it. They are pretty tough though. It's not like the previous owner took it apart and got sand in other places (or is it?) .

I received a 'tournament ready' mag that had a blend of water, paint, and fine sand all through it. With a seal kit, it was fine.

Wasn't that for sale here too?

If I were you I'd just sell it to me really cheap!
Clean it as best you can.
              Replace all the seals.
              Oil her up.
              Helicoil the threads.

Hand drill is all you need. The Heli-coil kit comes with the drill bit, tap, heli-coils, and install tool. Its very easy, just take your time, and doing it yourself is more satisfying!
I have nothing good to put here...........

Heli-coil the holes, it will be stronger anyways.
I may have an extra 10-32 Heli-coil tap and heli-coils I'll give you.

                              No problem.
You will need a #7 (.201) drill , or a common size 13/64" (.203) drill to ream out
the holes. Use a drill press if you can.
I just checked and I dont have the tap at home but I know I have extras at work.
As far as installing the heli-coils, you can notch a 10-32 screw to drive in the heli-coil.
                              I'll PM you on monday.
