how "fast" is your friend's DM? and how is he measuring it? I have a dm6 here (same basic gun) and I have bolt position readings from it that show it can only cycle up to a certain speed.. which IIR is in the low 20's cps (I can check the exact numbers later.. they are not in front of me right now).
Zack has some pretty fast shooting vids out there! But he also runs 3000psi to the valve for the fastest ones, which I would think your mag does not have.

Zack Vetter's video is by far the fastest I've ever seen. I seem to remember he's shooting 30+ bps. If that's not faster than a DM7, I don't know what is.
Keep in mind, though, that your friend said that his DM7 shoots faster that your mag.... so is a video of someone else's setup going to really help you?
But.... if you really want to see the Devil Mag video, it's on this page.

yea i have the vid from dd but my mag is not whats at challange anymore i showed him the zv viideo and the dd homeoage with all the goodness that it has and he was like thats only 34 bps and the dm is limited only by the hopper speed hes being a retard and i am humoring him.... mechanically mags are the fastest shot that i know of...and this is what i stated but he wants proof i know there was a dry fire mag thats bps was past 50 i just for the life of me cant find itComment

Put the shoe on the other foot. I would challenge him to establish his DM can shoot over 20 bps for some period of time like 3 seconds straight. He's the one making the assertion; he has the burden of proving his point beyond merely saying his is faster. Be sure to ask him (for me) how his shoe leather tastes.

ahahah case in point but he is thick and still wants to SEE it yea know a mech gun shooting faster than his dm so i showed him the q in 3 seconds which is 34 bps per sec and he wasnt satisfied what can i say my boy is

I think your refering to the "pluger mag",... which is on Zaks web page as well. (Last I was on there)
My take on your buddy is like everyone else is saying, find out what exactly hes trying to proove against your mag or vice versa.
Once you know its BPS over CPS,... then Im pretty sure you can win that arguement if your mag is set to fly. Problem with CPS is,... unless you have something that can measure an actual "firing cycle" of the marker,... you'll be debating what is and what is not the sound of the marker firing._______________________

what kind of mag do you have and how much does he know about mags?
If he doesn't know too much technical about automags, do this:
Jack up the input pressure as high as you can.Remove THIS part and THIS oring from your regulator assembly.
Viola... your mag cycles @ 40+ bps full auto.
Or you can just show him this vid of my old pneumag cycling somewhere over 40cps.
Just claim I made it a full auto.

Pretty sure that goes for the shocker as well._______________________

http://www.tinkersguild.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=545 (Ion bolt cycle and recharge tests)
A stock Ion new out of the box takes ~40ms for the bolt to move forward, fire, and come back.
With an optimized dwell, gets it down to 33-35ms
26ms is the default Ion solenoid dwell time... not the same as the bolt cycle time.
These numbers are the bolt in motion only-- ball load time adds on top of these numbers for a hard physical max ROF. Air recharge rate is the main killer... that can take up to 65ms (15bps) or even longer on a stock Ion.
A DM6 takes 10ms for the bolt to move forward, ~10ms to fire, and ~13ms to return for a total cycle of 33ms. Air recharge rate (Hyper2 reg) is around 50ms (20bps). I have the graphs to prove this data.
I think we are seeing a trend here for spoolers.
**EDIT update**
I find it interesting that, according to the graphs that Tom posted years ago (I have them saved locally), the Emag bolt (in 01/03/2002 -- with LVL7 bolt??) took 35ms for the bolt to cycle forward, fire, and come back. The E/Xmag valve can take a much higher input pressure, so is therefore capable of recharging faster.
All food for thought.

What about that rediculous thread in the PBN vid sectin that has some kids MASSIVELY upped ion shooting mid 30's (like 34+ iirc)
It seems legit, and it's shooting paint with no perceptible shootdown.Comment
