    Home Made Devil Mag

In the thread located here "The Devil Mag" (Post #30) I mentioned that I was working on a Solenoid Bracket to mount a "pancake" solenoid inside the frame in order to build my own Devil Mag.

I milled the frame out last week and never took any pictures.
Then today, I found some time to get back into it and cut myself a bracket.
Here is some of the eye candy

The pocket milling where the Solenoid mounts

    Closeup of the pocket

    Bracket inplace - Solenoid free-mounted

    Closeup with some more light

Side shot of the Solenoid and Bracket

Whole frame with Bracket and Solenoid

    Things left to do:

Finish drilling the solenoid tention screw holes and tap them

Ive completed the diagrams for my Logic Vertical Frame and Im in the process of shrinking them to make a more universal design to work with the Chimera, Intelli-frame, UMF, Airwalk V1/V2, etc.

    More to come!

I've heard that if you rub the trigger just right the gun goes off... I'm sure it's just a rumor.

          Nice work.

              Great minds think alike =)

That's exactly how I built my devil-mag copy a couple of years ago. Worked great, but I haven't played in a long time...

Unfortunately I have lost the pics of my build since Jayloo went down, otherwise I would have shown you how I did the rest.

P8nt, talk to MPSD about it as he has a frame I built him a little while ago just like this.
It's based off the UMF. I only made the frame so I'm not sure about tuning or how it actually behaves.
These pics may be of some use to you.

PM me for cads of the frame I built... it'll save you some time.

hey, um would you mind if I got a copy of those trigger frame designs? I tried pming you but it said your inbox was so full it wouldn't go through. If you read this and wouldn't mind sending me a copy of those cad files my email is [email protected]

That complete drawing files (there's several) only contain the dimensions to make the modifying cuts.
They contains no useful information for actually making a UMF.

I spent an hour wiring up the frame with some electronics today.

Yesterday I finished my solenoid mount bracket and tapped the holes for some tention screws.

                          Some pictures of the work

I used 1 of the solenoids I had made for this frame. Since I have crimpers and such for the connections I went ahead and wired up the solenoid and eye wires for them as well.

I think all I have left is to drill for the LED, mount the micro switch inplace, and send a body off for some eye milling.

Spent some more time on my project tonight.

I drilled out for the LED & milled the pocket for the membrane pad

Here you can see the Switch mounted in the back of the trigger slot where normally the sear arm would go.

I actually didnt use the standard Omron "D2F" micro switch in this particular design. I went with the larger Omron "SS" standard size switch for a few reasons.
The slot for the trigger is alot larger than the D2F switch,.. and I didnt want to drill holes into the side of the frame because I didnt want anything to show. I picked up some switches for another project and they didnt work, so I just happen to have them on my desk when I was getting ready to design a new mount for the smaller switch. I grabbed one of these,.. and what would you know,... PERFECT FIT!

I spent the time fitting the trigger in place and making a stop for the back of the switch to hold it in place. Its not the finished idea that I wanted,... but its water tight and solid. The other great thing about the switch I used, was that it takes up all the gap on the sides of the slot,.. so no paint can get into the area where the solenoid and board are.

So now what I have left is:

Tap the trigger for the switch plunger
Mill some new grips (or find a set I can cut the pockets into)

I just went down in the basement and dug up a body and valve to try this thing out.

With a dwell of 14,... and a MROF of 20,.. it cycles the valve on full auto without an issue.

Im going to play with the settings some more after I get my trigger tapped out.
But for the most part,... Im pretty pleased with this!
