AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Usually you use it to strip anno, but if you just use a drop or 2 in the hole, let it sit for 10 - 15 mins, you should be able to remove a very small amount of alum. Just enough to back it out easy..
I wont be able to make it to ao south. It is on the same weekend as the big scenario here at Paintball Charleston. If it was any other weekend I would be able to go.
I have a set of tap extractors. Its a set i got when i was doing alot of that type of work. If your willing to send it to me i will take it out for you, And send it back if you still need help PM me we can talk...

I was just looking at waltontools.com. I sent an email about buying a #6 3 flute tap extractor. They don't have prices on their site. If this doesn't work then I will probably get the frame to someone on here to help me out.
I called a few machine shops the other day. They all basically said that they could try and remove it for me, but it wouldn't be worth it at $80/hour. They said they couldn't give me an estimate on how long it would take to work it out because its such a small tap.
Do you know what the tap is made out of? I don't have any but they do make carbon taps which you can get a punch and basically smash apart if they ever snap off. Best thing is there's no damage to the threads.
Also you don't want to talk to Walton Tools. They're the manufacture not a dealer. Do a search for the size you want, there's plenty of people selling tap extractors. Buying a kit is going to be expensive but for single ones it shouldn't cost you over $10-15
Another option is to just use a punch and force it out. It will strip the aluminum threads out. You can then drill it out and tap it for a helicoil thread repair if you have enough room.

or just tap it for 8-32 threads. (not much larger than 6)
