Lexan Bodies?

Lexan is a extremely durable plastic. Its used for bullet proof windows and sorts of other stuff. My question is would it be possible to make marker main bodies with the material? Is it strong enough or can it even be machined and milled?

Reason I ask is I would like to see and have a transparent body for my Mag and other markers. Any idea on costs of the material and machining?

someone already made a lexan cocker body. There would be no purpose for a mag because you wouldnt really see all that much, plus i heard the manufacturing costs are quite expensive.

Unfortunately Lexan (a brand name of polycarbonate) is relatively soft, and in use for a paintball body would quickly go from clear to translucent in areas where it is in contact with moving parts.

Just for reference, it is my understanding that Bud Orr personally asked the gentleman making the clear cocker bodies to stop because they were proven to fail and crack in time. I personally wouldn't want a clear mag body now that I fully understand what forces are applied to it.

uh... where's the 800 psi coming from? It's not like there is actually air chambers in mags... The only part I'm worried about is the bolt area. Otherguys platic would be a NO

Well if lexan is out of the question, is there another material that has a clear or transpartent effect that could be used safly?

Just think, clear ULE bodies, now that would be sweet.

I bet you could have one milled from glass then tempered...very tough, but unique.
