AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
How do you make stuff from plastic/resins/whatever?
Thanks man, that's exactly what I was wondering about. That helps a LOT! If I start doing something I'll let ya know how it turns out. Thanks a lot!

Oh yeah, one more quick question- What kind of rubber and plastics do I use? I looked around on that website but I wasnt sure which kinds were for what. Where did you get whatever that was that you used? Thanks again!
Well it depends on what your trying to make. I used these materials because I wanted to use them before they went bad and because I really didn't want to machine one of these for everyone in my family.
The material used to make the mold was PMC 740 and SC 300 to pour into it to make the piece.
What you need to watch out for is the shapes your trying to cast, they will dictate what you need to make the mold from. If you want to give it a try, I'll be more than happy to help your figure out what materials to use or you can call Smooth On and talk to them.
Have fun!
EDIT:
All materials came from the link I posted before.-- (Smooth On)
Thanks a lot man, all this is now MUCH clearer to me. One last question though, what kind of stuff would I need to make something like some grips? Doesn't really need to be the rubbery kind, panels would be perfect. I am trying to make me a mod here in my workshop and I think some custom panels would suit it nicely. Thanks again!
Bert
Choose what characteristics of the material that you want to work with, like "POT LIFE" (how fast it cures) "DEMOLD TIME" (when you can take it out of the mold) "MIX RATIO" ( You will likely want to choose the 1:1 mix ratios as they are the easiest to work with.) "ULTIMATE SHORE HARDNESS" (The higher the number the stronger/stiffer when cured)
If you click on the material in the first column, you can read about it characteristics and recommendations......
if your interested in making grips talk to Heather AKA the frymarker. She knows grips and I am sure she is more than happy to give you some pointers or directions.
sorta clear40 for the mold. I stirred it too much creating bubbles. but the 61d was bubble free until I poured it in the mold. Thats when it turned rabid, swelling and foaming. There was no dirt or moisture donn't know what went wrong.
