yea i read all that and now..
1)Bolt is back ready to shoot. The valve is opened and filling the chamber
2)The trigger is pulled and the bolt starts moving foward.
3)when the bolt is foward enough the the airchamber is opened by the bolt (need to see pic.)
When the chamber is opened air will rush out and propel the ball .
    4)bolt returns

Mags don't shoot darts... they shoot nails.
I used to be bertmcmahan, that I did.

It might be a pain to manufacture, but I always thought it would be possible to create a marker that is functionally similar to a mag but with no on/off. It would appear this idea is close to my own.

        We really need pictures though.

I figured that an extended rod from the back of the bolt could operate a valve that would control flow from the regulator to the dump chamber. I even tried to sketch out an idea where the valve at the back would be unbalanced so as to pull the bolt back, which would eliminate the need for the bolt spring.

But like I said, manufacturing it might be very difficult.

well if you have a scanner or a high res digital camera, just post them, better having messy ones than none.

              darkest blue is no pressure
              blue is emptying
              grey is metal

Maybe not, you might could make some of the parts screw-on, like the end of the stopper thingy in your design there, making it easy to out together and all.

Good ideas here BTW, I didn't get that concept of how the bolt closed the chamber at first.

darn my left side brain bias (i'm not a visual learner in most cases, a good example would be those airplane safety cards, they get me all confused....) pic's confusin me, so i'l stick to the image all your typing has given me. screw on parts would be the best way to go, keeps all parts seperate for manufacturing.

not sure about how easy it would be to make, but otherwise the system looks sound. mind you if you make it, it would be for personal use only, i dont think many people would buy it (we'l see after a few years, you can prove me wrong then )

Do you have access to your own machine shop?

Best of luck with your dream, but it will take a lot of time and money to get a marker to the point it is functional enough that others will but it. Then, it has to offer something the dozens of other marker don't for people to risk something new instead of something that is recognised or highly publicised.
