    PumpMag Redesign

    Hey,

After a long search for getting a pumpkit for my mag, I decided to put my newly aquired engineering degree to work and design/build my own.

So far I've recreated the existing kit. I like it, but know I could make it better.

    Upcomming additions....

    2 Pump rods,
    2 guide arms

    New mount design, eliminating spacer.

    Any suggestion?

First... Awesome models!! (Can I get a copy?)

Second... Elimination of the wave washer is going to be difficult, as it must stop the bolt's return stroke, but still be able to be compressed by the pump's action. I'm all ears for this, as a pump mag is an interesting project.

    Good luck!

Nice job! I have a pump in process but i'm all ears for something new, and i like the dual rod idea.

You might want to consider using a standard RTP rail for your next rendering though, the classic is no longer being made, and all the current and aftermarket rails out now, are based on the RTP

        Keep us posted.

          sorry to sound dumb but..

Why would anyone want to turn a semi into a pump? Are there some advantages to pump that I dont know about or is it just so you can say you have a pump mag?

            hmmm

classic rail .. there makeing the new classic mag i think you should check into it ..
i think the classic rail is being made again.

if you go rt sear style rail . i would look into going with the tac-one rail nice flat sides ...
            and more slim line..

            pic's look mint

What about taking the spydermag idea and making an electronic pump? Ive been running the idea threw my head, but cant come up with a way to have the switch turned off when the gun shots and turned back on when the road is pumped...

Electronic pump would be dope. A little solenoid and linkage to recock the bolt.
                  6 oz 1/4" pump stroke.

Isn't electronic pumps though, kinda getting away from the concept of playin pump?

You can get a semi only spyder/clone frame for $20, so it could be done alot cheaper then agd pump kit cost now a days.. Besides picture doing this to an E-Tac, you setup a switch and go from pump mode to regular mode.

You are thinking about it differently then I am, but that idea would be cool also. Instead of stopping the bolt like a normal pump does, stop it electronically.

This is the idea I was thinking:
cut one of the wires for the trigger switch, and connect them to a switch that could be mounted in the pump handle so when you pump it would close the circuit and allow the gun to be fired. I just need a way to turn the pump switch off as soon as the gun fires... I will have to do some more thinking

Think this would work a little better. That and its so hawt!!

I was wondering how many peeps would be down with a kit like this?
Mabey do a small production run ~50.

                      Thoughts?

I have had enough troubles with only 1 pump rod and I dont see the need for 2 seems like overkill. If you have ever used one it is a very short very light stroke.
I think there for, I am I think. am I?

Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
