i think anyone whos ever played paintball has imagined how to make a gatling gun at one time or another... I see a man with a 5 gallon water cooler bottle as a ammo pack on his back. The pack would have some wierd agitator twards the spout which would feed paint into 1 or multiple "Warp-on-crack" type assemblies. The end result of the feed process would be 4, 6 8 or how ever many barrels you want, tubes of paint that would spider out to the ouside of the rotatiing barrel assembly. The warps dont feed paint into the barrels, they just make sure there is a paintball at the end of every feed tube at all times. The barrels would have a curved hook, like on the right reciver half of a tippmann a-5. When the barrels rotate they would scoop out a single ball per tube. This is bassically the opposite action of the cyclone feed system, and that can feed 15bps so i imagine that this type of feeding process would keep up with the speed required to make this a desireable weapon. but thats really as far as i ever got... lol

make a 2000 round q loader and backbpack it
twinned up emags with a tommy gun style grip flipped upsidedown
      so it leans forwards
looking for a terminator style gun mixed with a boba fett style back pack with 2 nitro bottles and a giant q loader or 2 1000 round q loaders

        Q

        Heres an idea..

If you have 6 barrels, and your projected ROF is 40bps or so.. you have at least 1 valve mechanism at the top.

at the bottom, you have at least 2 force feeders (warp seems to be best for the location) that are pushing up into a sort of "staging" area. The only purpose of this staging area is to put the balls in a position to be picked up by the spinning barrels.

So the barrel's breech should be kind of elongated or offset at an angle so it "scoops" up the balls currently in the staging area of the gun. (having a little detent on the side opposite from where the barrels are coming from is a must) The purpose of 2 is so that should the first feeder not be able to catch all the balls, the second will fill any empty ones. If a barrel is already loaded, then the second feeder will skip it, as the ball just wont have anywhere to go.

Now, heres another idea i just thought of. Everybody has been trying to create a gun with moving BARRELS and a SINGLE firing mechanism. (Well i think one person tried 6 guns, but also 6 loaders..) How about making a gatling gun that uses 6 completely seperate firing mechanisms? You could use the loading idea above, combined with the following: each "barrel" could simply be another automag. Only the body, barrel, rail and valve. The single tube design is what makes this possible, and still look cool. You can modify each sear to be tripped at a sideways angle, or create something that can trip a sear heading at a perpendicular angle. So all 6 guns spin(remembering they are all single tubes, no grip frame) get loaded at the bottom by the redudntant warp feeds, and at the top their sear is tripped. The way the automag works, you do not need the gripframe to have the the gun in "ready-to-fire" position. So it spins around a focus, gets loaded, and is tripped at the top. The gun will take care of sealing itself, firing, and all of that. You only need to build the focus, the loader, and the sear tripper.

EDIT: I thought of a SIMPLE way to trip the sears!

If you're holding an automag pointing away from you, the sear pin would be forward correct? All you have to do at the top is create a litte ramp that forces the sear pin to go back. At the "height" of the ramp, the pin will have been pushed back far enough to fire the mag!

This mechanism makes a MUCH simpler mechanical gun! The only thing you'll be REALLY controlling is the motor that spins all the guns around. The rest of the process, firing, loading, reseting is COMPLETELY done automatically as each gun spins! But then the next problem is, where to lead 6 different air hoses...

How about an air fitting with a swivel? Sort of like the QD's. They are sealed, but can still spin around. But better yet would be to find one that is made for swiveling. From there, you only have to buy splitters for the air lines. The swivel will follow the airlines that follow the guns as they spin. Since only 1 ball will fire at a time, you should have no problem keeping up the psi. And even if it does get a little dropoff, turn up the pressure!

Guys! It's so simple! if i had the tools and the money, i'd have already tried to create this.

        Good luck!
