I don't think it has to be touching when at rest, but the MPA-3 does have a limited throw. As long as it's close enough so it can push the sear far enough, then it probably doesn't matter.

AHH ok, just wondered, as mine doesn't touch it but gives very high rates of fire anyway. I thought i might have been missing out on something. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

          paging pneumagger!!

i know this is a semi-old thread... but i've got a few questions.

how do you make sure the qev lines up correctly with the mpa3? mine likes to sit with a slightly crooked attitude.

also, how do you route your hoses inside the frame in order to avoid the sear's range of motion? i've been looking at it and, while possible, it seems like a very close fit.

i don't know if yo've ever used an alpha rail, but mine has exterior and interior milling similar to one of those. i'm wondering how much of the alloted space the ule body's lug takes up inside the provided rectangular hole.

i'm sure i'll have more questions for you later also.

any help would pe appreciated, thanks.

You don't need to fit the QEV onto the MPA-3 you can have it floating in the frame, it doesn't move around much it there so won't be damaged. Yo can get 90deg swivel fittings from Clippard to help run the hose from the rear of the MPA-3 and down past the MSV-2. You need to make sure there is enough space between the frame and the lever to run the hose. It's very tight in the frame so it takes a bit of trial and error to get the best fit. Remember to make the frame field strip easy so when you take the frame apart when out playing it doesn't turn into a nightmare to get it back together. Swivel fittings are ideal for this purpose as you don't need to keep replacing the hose after a couple of disassemblies. They make taking the frame apart so much easier, not cheap mind. $18 for five. Worth the money though. It doesn't matter if the QEV is crooked, only that it misses the lever.
