I am sure. I used the smaller noid and it works fine with my ULT X-Valve. It has a lot to do with how you mount the MPA-3. I put mine so low, it hits the very bottom of the sear, which requires less force.

Think about it... would you rather spend $40 on a ULT, use less air, and have room to mount the battery in the trigger frame... or not use the ULT, use more air pressure and the larger solenoid?

I'm probably going to use the small SMC as I am going for being able to have everything in the frame, and it can move 72 psi not 50. If you have an adjustable tank and the ULT 72 psi will be more than enough. While I would prefer to have the Mac or the 113 SMC I just don't want to mount the battery outside of the frame.

Zneaky~While the Ion board may be a cheaper way to go it douse require some mods and it isn't nearly as small. Plus I like the Pred code, much better than Virtue if I may so even though Virtue isn't bad.

I'll have to get some pics up when I am finished but as of right now the only thing holding me up is not having access to a mill. Hopefully next weekend when I am doing some work for my Dad I will be able to run it over to a friend to use his mill.

The only con about the super tiny solenoid you pointed out is it can't deliver a veyr large amount of volume too quickly. In a mag it will probably be okay, but used in another gun it would make a difference.
Other thing is the plastic hose barb, oppossed to a metal one, but it's a minor point.

That SMC noid didnt hold up too well. This application isnt really what it was made for - you cant plug the unused port... and it will vent the instant you air the noid up. So you have to use the input and the output to the mpa3... then the input air to the noid goes into the other output port on the noid...

I just put one of those MACs that ASP has on the site. TOok a little messing around with but I think I got it all figured out.

Surfbum~I can answer some of those questions as I have been tallking with BigEvil.

He is using the 1.8 watt in hopes that his board will have enough power to drive it.

If you look at the data sheet for the noid(ASP Doesn't have one up yet) it is about 8mm thick, 21.2 mm wide and the length I'm not sure about as even Mac doesn't have the 43 on their website
