Macro Or Steel?

Don't get microline. Micro is poop. It's not even good for being used as a straw.

Next best is macro. The best is steel braided, and in some cases, it looks better than macro, but thats just preference.

I prefer SS, for several reasons. 1. I couldn't stand playing with macro or micro, I would always be scared of it breaking, tearing, or bursting. 2. I'm about the only person in the world who prefers the look of SS.

Most people have never had a problem with macroline...

ME, of course, if it can go wrong, it will.

I got a new elbow for the macroline setup on my cocker. Stuck it on the marker's asa using the teflon tape, and took it in the back to gas it up. Wanted to check for leaks.

The sleave part actually shot out of the solid elbow part, up past my head, and made a sizable hole in the aluminum padio roof.
Note: the hose didnt come out... the metal sleave that locks the hose in place, shot out of the elbow.

I think that stuff is DANGEROUSE!!!

There is a reason that companies like aka say that the stuff is NOT suitable for use in paintball.

Oh, but where i screwed the eblow in the asa didnt leak... hehe
It just scared the S**T out of me!!! and the noise really hurt my ears.

That is what can happen when you use cheap fittings. I have sent out over 1000 90degree swivel macro fittings and have yet to have one come back. There are BIG differences in manufacturing quaility, and you better know which (whose) you are using. Don't blame the Macroline...blame the fiting.

I've never had any problems with the parker stuff. I am using all Macro hose on one gun and half macro, half SS on the other. I have no problems.

go with the stainles and if you don't like the looks of it get some heat shrink tubing and make it any color you want that way you get the looks and the duribility

macroline sucked for me and my emag, the connections ALWAYS leaked. ss not only looks better IMO, but with AGD quick disconnects it's very sturdy and will not leak.

hey mike, it's not as really far fetched as you would think. my friend had just bought the gun used (it turns out the previous owner had been using the macro line as a quick disconnect). over time this had eaten away at the outer portion of the macro line. all it took was that extra umph of someone pulling the gun away from the tank to pull the hose out.

i suppose if i got my 3 other friends to come and post what they saw i suppose you would say that they were dupe accounts.

i suppose if i showed you pics of the 2 scars on my back, you would want proof that they were from the tank, or say that it was photoshoped or something.

after that experience, i am not going to put my trust in a tank that is held on by a couple barbs in a piece of plastic thats condition is hidden by the sleve of the macro line fitting. thats my warning, listen to it if you want, if you dismiss it though, you might just witness it yourself someday.

i almost forgot the info on how it made it to my back.

my friend, skreemer to my left was holding the gun and tank, and rips a string with the gun. azemoth says "let me see", grabbing the gun. skreemer grabs the body of the tank with both hands. i feel this burst of air on my face, and as a reaction, i turn my back to it. i hear this roaring sound from the air, and the hollow clang of the tank as it hits the ground. then i feel a throbing in my back, and someone pushing me away. everyone scatters and my friend skreemer almost sliped and fell in the mud by the corner of the house. after everything subsided, we went over and saw the tank all scratched up, with just the macroline elbow.

looking back, after the hose got ripped out of the tank, it started tumbeling end over end, bounced off of the padio, and then wacked me in the back 2 times. once in the middle of my back, and 1 revolution later in my upper back.

my friend wants to ditch the 114 ci tank that was mentioned above for a 68 or 80 bucks cash. if you are intrested, it's not that dinged up.

macro/micro line just isn't my thing... and yes I'll back up Pi's story i was holding on to the tank when the macro-line popped off.. and granted it might not have been the line itself it might have been the fitting but it still scared rhe heck out of me when i heard the POP and the loud hiss as ti spun out o my hand and hit Pi and the way to the ground... what really scared me was that when it finally hit the ground it skittered at the gas grill complete with propane tank... mind you I know the possibility of fire/explosion was ver very slight but it still scared the heck outta me...

Dude I didn't say I didn't believe you, I said it's farfetched. Markers with tanks can fly if you give them a little leverage. I know a guy that we play with who was filling his HPA tank and it started to leak vigoursly. He just kinda of tossed it can it was like a little rocket and broke a window. The tank wasn't his either, so he had to pay for a new drop forward.

I see what your saying though, when you keep taking macro/micro in and out it get's scraped up and loses it nice and tight lock. True...

i never liked the macro line idea and after reading those posts i can see why... thats exactly what i was afraid of.. and who cares if its just the fittings on the macroline its still part of the macro line set up... it seems to me that potentially you are running around with a bullet waiting to take off your head.. seems too crazy for me plus i like ss looks way better in my opinion... and i liked that idea of shrink wrapping the colored rubber tubes so if you dont like silver pick any color...

macro lines sound pretty dangerous or at least they have the potential to be... just my thoughts

Thats weird, I bled my tank out by turning on the slide check and full output pressure of 800 was coming out and i didnt feel any force propelling the tank anywhere....
