First Day out with the Tac..I may need help

Today was the first time I got to put the Tac-One to test.
Played in the Trainging Day 3 scenario game at Fox Paintball here in Illinois.

First a question ...then my take on my first day.

    1) I couldn't seem to get the FPS over 270 and it was fluctuating pretty hard....from like 230 to 250 to 235 to 260.... not sure what was up there? Ok yes I am a noob to Mags...and the Tac had no instruction manual at all ( the ONLY thing that I was disappointed with when I bought it).
Maybe I was turning the wrong screw or something....but where do you adjust velocity? I was turning a small screw on the right hand side of the body....but no matter what way I turned it...form tight to loose to in between...I was getting these wild FPS variations. Any suggestions? Is this a LV 10 problem, a breaking in period problem, was I not adjusting the right screw???? Help...... I REALLY wish AGD would have included a user manual and not just a x-valve diagram. If you have any ideas what to try...please let me know.

My setup was the Tac (with ULT), Palmer Brass (14 inch, no porting), 88 HPA tank, Spec Ops T2W stock,Q-Loader direct feed to warp right, running remote (which later in the day was leaking due to some bad o-rings but that is another barrel of fish)

Impressions on first use. The gun is light. Much lighter then my A-5....even with the Brass and the stock. I liked that. Balls were being shot pretty straight and good accuracy. Paint was a upper-mid grade Draxuss. Now I could in no way walk the trigger...but I was getting it to fire pretty fast for me. The gun felt "right". Was comfortable and worked well. Had maybe 3 ball chops...but this may have been due to the Q-loader....not sure. After the chops accuracy was out the window till I could clean out the barrel and the Q-loader, and the inside of the Tac body.

Im pretty impressed with it. I think if I could have gotten the velocity better, it would have preformed better too. Over all I was please. I am no where near getting past the " break in period" So I expect things to get even better from here.

Was I amazed with it....no. Did I think it was better then the A-5....yea by a mile. I dont know if I can give an over all fair judgment due to the velocity issues. Maybe my expectatons were to high and I was expecting it to preform a little better...but again...its not fair to give it a real review due to the velocity.

Overall....a great first day, and I am 100% pleased with the upgrade from the A-5.

Velocity is adjusted using hole at the back of the valve. The pin in the side is to hold the sear in place.

    RT Chrono procedure:

    AGD Manuals:

I velocity fluctuations are still an issue, try using one size larger level 10 carrier. Make sure it doesn't leak. Read the L10 manuals and watch the video.

            One other thing.....
It seems when I first turn the air on my remote....and slide the slide check in to give gas to the gun.....may times the gun would just fires a shot.....I didn't even have my finger on the trigger...it just went off......????
            Thanks!

turn first screw circled hand tight. turn B hand tight.

A is your velocity. IN for higher FPS, OUT for lower FPS

You adjust the velocity at the back of the valve which looks to be labeled A in the picture.

You will unscrew B only to remove the valve for cleaning after play that day or to really clean after a bad break in the breech.

The first shot upon airing up seems to be a problem with the ULT.. It is fairly normal. And when i am using a marker with a ult i just try and remember not to gas it up when using paint, or gas up in the chrono area with the barrel blocker in the off posistion.

BTW.. welcome to mags and may your wallet always forgive you

                  LOL...ok here I go again....

                  Insert allen wrench into A.

                  clockwise is...higher or lower velocity
                  counterclockwise is.....higher or lower velocity

Hope you didn't bend the sear pin.

I dont think so....I hope not....I just screwed the screw in and out.......I thought that was the velocity because thats where the A-5 velocity screw is (approx)...but I never forced it...or over tightened it......

If you turn B you will be able to take out the Xvalve. Make sure that no air is in it when you un screw "B". If you have a hard time pulling it out pull the trigger and when the spring pushes it back twist to the left ( i think ) and the valve will be out.

B: is called the field strip screw. What It does is hold the valve, rear of the rail and rear of the grip together. On the emag a second screw is also used to hold the battery pack in place at a different location.

ps. I remember reading somewhere, that you can hold the trigger down while airing up so that doesnt happen... I haven't tried that yet tho.
