Yep, marketing ploy, I think.. it'll be interesting to see if anything actually comes of it..

My worry lies in the fact that I've already seen good reputable teams turn into ultra-competative, win at all costs teams simply for the sake of sponsorships.. how much more if a potential salary is on the line?

Personally, I've got a few good companies that take care of me, that's all I need. Not someone paying every dollar and expecting results in return.

Maybe that will be the hallmark of a professional scenario team, to be able to show people how to play and have fun while being impressive enough (in whatever way) to maintain their sponsorship, which is a tough balance.

Most teams are nice enough off the field, but only a few have ever struck me as fun or very helpful for noobs when the competition gets stiff (guilty). It's easy to help people along when your side has control of the game, but you can't load all the sponsor teams on one side and expect the other side to enjoy that, and somebody has to lose (and that may be more than half the people). The things noobs seem to hate most are raids and defense. Getting them to commit while you're looking good is hard to do.

"When the end comes, I won't even notice. I will be too busy looking good!"
