I am probably the exception I do care if my markers get scratched and beat up. I also do have a few markers that are display only. But thats me. When i play i am selective of what ones i take. Does it change my game any. No. I ussually dont slide anyway and play woods more than anything. I am not a fast moving person. I cant run any decent distance. If i scratch it accidently while playing i wont like it but it happens. I wont do anything that will intentionly scratch it.
How expensive a marker will you play with?

All markers can be repolished/reannoed, I can say i dont play with m electrics in the rain and snow. I ruined a perfectly good shoebox shocker getting in wet long ago. didnt learn my lesson and played with a friends E1 cocker in the rain and fried his board. Live and learn, play hard or dont play at all, and if it rains, pull out the mechs for sure.

When I buy a marker, I buy it to use the crap out of it and if it gets blemished on the way then o well. During the game I won't notice, after I might be kinda bummed but then you have to think what does it matter? Ye the gun won't look as good, but it still shoots fine oh and it might effect the resale, well like that really matters. I've got 2 markers that are 2 years old and Ill be lucky to recoup 1/4 of what I payed for them.
All though if I damage the marker off the field like it gets scratched in the car, that makes me angry.
This is also kinda of the reason I shoot an 05 and an 06 gun (other then they shoot better then anything new anyway) they are work horses that already have lost their value so if they get damaged o well.

i have asked myself this question many times. i dont have a price range, but just in general: try to protect it as much as possible.
i recently picked up an x-valve, and im PARANOID about it getting scratched up since once it does, it'll be forever

Heres a little trick for you:Originally posted by TnDeathIncAll markers can be repolished/reannoed, I can say i dont play with m electrics in the rain and snow. Take a bottle of "Hard as Nails" fingernail polish and coat your boards with it. Make sure that you dont get it in any connectors or buttons. Let dry and Viola! You have a better chance of surviving in the rain and snow.
And I also think that if you pay the money for it, then it should be used. No matter what you paid for it. There are some nice markers, and some rare markers out there. But they were all meant to be played with.WOW, sigs. Havent seen these in a while here on AO.

True that. I don't care about the costs of my gun, my gear, or the amount of paint i shoot. I play for fun, and damaging your gun/equipment is part of the game. If you are a real neat freak about it, you replace damaged parts between game days. But the way i see it: The first nick or scratch is the worst, the rest does not matter.Originally posted by Mind'sEyeI never think about money concerns while I'm playing. The game of paintball is supposed to transport you away from all those burdens. If it doesn't then you're doing something wrong.
Altho i have a Xmag that i don't use for just that reason....

I'd just like to add, that every time I play, I take out the 12th Man Emag for at least a few games. The reaction I get usually ends up with a few people wanting an Emag of their own. That alone is worth the few scratches I have on the barrel from play.Originally posted by robnixMarkers are meant to be played with, not kept on a shelf like a trophy. Therefore, I'll slide, dive, crawl through the woods, and play where ever with any of my markers.

I am careful with my equipment when i can be. and if it gets battle scars during times of play i dont mind. I also notice when you are engaged (or at least when I am), the last thing on my mind is damaging my equipment. I'm trying to do anything I can do to stay alive and eliminate the opponent.
My main is my chord emag so she gets out no matter what the terrain.
The way i see it, battles scars give the gun character
What i do mind is OTHER people scratching/damaging my stuff.

However, i'll do everything in my power to not let that happen, regardless of the price.
Pretty much the same as me, just yesterday I was out playing bush ball with my dust black xmag and went crashing into a boulder, hit hard on the battery pack and dented the bottom slightly, besides that and breaking balls in my hopper on that impact everything is just fine, just a nice silver scratch. I will always play the same unless its a marker that I am borrowing no matter how expensive or cheap I will baby it.

I was wondering about what to do to my E-Mag yesterday as a downpour came through ( florida's like that)Originally posted by krugerHeres a little trick for you:

my main marker is a Karta bodied E-mag , #2 is a E-Tac , #3 is a R/T Pro
I think the more I pay for it , the more I play with it

I spent $625 on my K&P Customs Scout which is a stock class pump. I play hard with that gun, I always clean it thoroghly and keep it lubed. If it gets damaged I know for the most part Ken can fix it. I paid $525 for my RT ULE and I have just started putting it to the grind, so I will find out very soon if it can take punishment I put on my equipment. Even if I paid more for the guns I will still play hard. For the most part if I break it I can repair or replace it. Plus it helps being just a 25 minute drive from K&P Customs

With most of my markers, I dont worry much about scratches, I try my best to keep it from happening, but if it does, so be it. However with the fusion that DP gave me and gruntbull anodized, I baby it as much as I can. Infact Warwitch gave me a good, I think next time I play with it ill wrap it in a diaper so it dont get scratched.
