I'm not into the milsim look myself but your project looks really cool. The paint job and the MP5SD style fake surpresser came out nice. Its a big improvement over the way it was stock.

I agree sort of, but i still like the look. The colors just look odd together.Originally posted by FiXeLI don't want to be critical, but....

If someone would see this at first glance, i would not be suprised that they said it was a toy gun. The paintjob is nice, but it does not go well with the mil-sim body it went on to. But that's just my opinion.Il n'y a point de sots si incommodes que ceux qui ont de l'esprit.

Its the pictures. The colors are cyote and OD. Whats weird about that?
And you guys should go look at the field firearms of some true operators. They spray their stuff all the time. Black flat out sucks in the woods.

I think it looks fricking amazing. The colors are PERFECT together. It looked like a toy before.

Ok, i wouldn't say it looks like a toy, but i guess i'm just more used to brown and coyote (or tan, if that's basically what that is). I'm not saying they look bad, it just seems like an odd choice. I do love OD though, it's my favorite color.Originally posted by WarwitchIts the pictures. The colors are cyote and OD. Whats weird about that?

So yeah I just checked this forum again, as I try not to be lurking around forums all day long lol or I'd be on here forever wasting my days away cause it's too addictive, and I wanted to say I think the paint job looks awesome.
As far as the toyish comment, I can see why you say that, but I personally don't think so, and the colors aren't really odd to me, personally I'd rather have something unique like this anyways. Olive Drab is an amazing color, and the red being gone makes me a happy little camper, so good job man. At least you undercoated it, not too many people are intelligent to do that, I know a crap load of people think anodizing is the only way to go, not true. Personally I prefer duracoat, and it is a special paint made for firearms, so kudos to you!

To me the dimensions and style of the body make it look like a toy gun... It seems like a carnival-toy knockoff of a 552 that'd cost $7 and shoot little orange darts, no matter what the color or barrel fixture... Something about the gripframe is just plain wrong.Originally posted by FiXeLI don't want to be critical, but....

As far as paint goes, I like it... Perhaps it will be carried by the armed snow-guards of the totalitarian government in a post-nuclear-apocalyptic future?

Lol a tad bit harsh. The poor guy loves his gun and you guys just are all ripping into him, yes he did ask for opinion but come on. The whole snow guard thing was a little much as well...Originally posted by Frizzle FryTo me the dimensions and style of the body make it look like a toy gun... And you guys who say it looks like a toy gun should silence yourselves with a paintball to the head. Look at mini's (I own one) and even bright colored emags and xmags. Now those look like TOYS. lol Like I should be able to take an Xmag and use it as a super soaker.

Relax. Its what I expected posting up on the Mag forum (from the new guys anyways.) And I certainly wont be crying myself to sleep over it. Im not the sensitive type.
Moving to this marker from stuff like AGD and AKA is just a progresssion for me. Its a simplicity, less is more thing. I just want to get to the game. As my priorities change I just dont like to mess with teching/tuning. And this performs at 90% of my Mags and Vikes capabilities. Plenty well enough to cover my play.
This has been a really fun and gratifying project. And I didnt have to screw around with stuff like on/off pins, L10 shims, etc. No tuning, just fabrication. Which is perfect for me because I suck as a mechanic.
Edit: and of course it looks like a toy. It is a toy. When the whole thing was black you couldnt tell things like the ejection port and forward assist were just molded in. Now that the body is light it becomes more obvious. Of course walk 50' away and it looks like a firearm again. What matters is that it handles in a familiar, comfortable fashion. You know this is lighter than my E-tac? Yep.

I totally agree, mags are good, but they are old technology. I know that will ruffle some feathers, but it is nice to see people aren't totally stuck living in the past. Yes I love and own mags, but we need to face the fact that there are other guns out there, I happen to think you made a good choice, though it has a lot of aesthetic value, the gun performs very well.Originally posted by WarwitchRelax. You've actually had to work on your mag? I've had one for over ten years, the worst thing I've ever HAD to do was clean the thing out after a chop.....
No marker is totally maintenance free, and if this is based around a mini style marker, this one will require as much maintenance as any of them.

But the operating system is so much more simple. Diagnosing problems is easy, teardown is even easier and replacing parts is a non-issue. Just saying.Originally posted by txaggie08You've actually had to work on your mag? I've had one for over ten years, the worst thing I've ever HAD to do was clean the thing out after a chop.....

Here is a pic with the color fixed a little better. Much closer to real colors.

a) I wasn't ripping into him. I was talking about how the frame on this and the TM7 have never looked right to me; something about the design and dimensions have always seemed off. Unless this is guy owns BT or Empire/Invert I'm not entirely sure how I'm ripping into him...
b) The snowguard thing was a compliment and a joke. I think the owner and painter of this marker has improved it. You'll notice I said I LIKE IT in reference to the paintjob and design. I separated the comment about the marker itself and this specific modified marker that War Witch did by ending my sentence and putting a line break there.

Either way I never singled you out I was making a generalization that there are other guns that more so look like toys, no need to get on the defense lol.

Frankly i never found diagnosing problems in a mag all that hard, then again when it comes to mechanical stuff i'm in heaven, just ask automagsam, if i am able to i'll tear down anything i can to see how it works, or clean it, or whatever.Originally posted by WarwitchBut the operating system is so much more simple. As for the paintjob, it's definitely growing on my, it looked more tan at first and i was expecting it to be even darker than in the first picture which is why i said they looked odd together. As for looking like a toy, i've seen other guns that short so that doesn't make sense to me. Especially with the mock silencer it just looks more like a spec ops sort of thing.
Anyway i got to shoot a TM-7 today and it was fun, never actually shot at 20 bps i don't think. But i also tried shouldering it with the stock and i even more so can't understand people using the stock, even with a remote, it's just not suited to paintball, but then again that's also my preference.Il n'y a point de sots si incommodes que ceux qui ont de l'esprit.
