well i haven't been asked by anyone to make an emag board for them, nor i have i priced the PCB's. If anyone would like to tackle the project I would be glad to help, but at this time I really don't want to be the person selling and distributing. I will however create the PCB, select the bill of material and help set that person up.
Truth be told I don't have the capital to do a project like this at the moment and personally I dont think the need is that great (i could be wrong). :)

I would think if you can make the board cheap enough: New emag board is $200.00 + xmod flash $60.00. If you can make it for $140.00 ish to save me the cost of flashing its worth having you make it, if you cant then people would be better off buying one new from AGD (assuming they have them in stock).

What do you need help tackling to do the project? If its something where you need 10 or so people to want one before you can think about making it then never mind. I am just looking to get a Emag board for myself, if others want in too great but I cant guarantee that.

PS: AGD is out of stock, (kinda off topic) dose Tuna or anyone else have any in stock?

The PCB alone will be around $30-$50 a piece, there's about $10-$15 in parts so yeah it would be much cheaper then $200. I am in talks with Tunaman to do some work for him, no promises, but I want to wait to see what we work out before I start creating one off Emag boards.

Sounds good if tuna is setting something up with new boards and flashing for less then the 200$ board ill take one.

But if not let me know and we can work out a one off emag board

I can't speak for Tuna, what he ultimately decides is up to him.

The real time an energy goes towards creating the PCB, once the files are created after that a person can buy and sell the PCB's as they see fit. I think i'm going to create the PCB artwork over the next few weeks, just so that i have it in case anyone wants to go forward.

Does anyone have a schematic put together for the board?

Just so you know,.... an E-Mag board proto-type has been in production for a few months now.

It started on post #73: http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...5&page=2&pp=40

Circuitry is completed,... Im waiting for the eye ports to come in to have the proto-types finshed.

I was not aware where you and chris left off, i'm not trying to screw you or chris. Just offering my services if anyone one is interested. Actually if I remember correctly when Chris first posted that he was making boards i offered to help, and he declined. Good luck with your boards, and of course my services are offered to you as well.

What Im doing is an E-Mag board and a Universal right now. I am NOT venturing out beyond those items yet,..... (warp feed is next on the list of things)

There are ALOT of guys on here than want updated boards for hyperframes and other markers.

If you do get to making the PCB schematic,.. you may want to talk to LorneCash and see where he left off.

I read you thread, and correct me if i'm wrong but your paying $37ea for 100pc PCB order? That is extremely expensive, who are you using to make the boards?

I didnt out source the contract to Korea,... so they are made in the USA,.... so a little bit more expensive.

Those figures I believe are old. I have proto-types made,... which was expensive.

I also will own the circuitry.... which was an added cost.

The software will be mine as well,... which was an added cost.

$37 for each board to be made for my cost is alot,.... but at this point its not there yet,.. so no actual cost can be assumed until production begins.

The problem I run into is wrongfully figuring in cost prior to actually moving into a production stage. So this time,,.. Im figuring everything higher.

If you wanted to do some work, I'd be willing to see what you offer. But after my problems with Chris,.. I make zero montiary obligations to product unless I have a legal written contract or the cost is paid in full for production items by the designer prior to my last inspection.

I see how you figured the cost now, but still i'm getting pricing on PCB in the US under $10 at quantity, that does not include the charge for populating the PCB just the raw PCB.

I completely understand you situation and agree with you, I would ask for the same things. Like i said in my first post, I've been doing this a long time and if you need some advice on figuring you costing for a complete product I'd be happy to help, PM me.

I wouldn't mind starting work on the Emag SCH/PCB maybe next week, but it will be at my leisure, like a side project, so who knows when I'll be finished. But if I had real interest and someone told me that they want the design, I'd be inclined to do it faster.

Again PM me if you are interested, I don't know your position or exactly what you have right now.

I was told that colored (black, red, or white) PCBs were more expensive.

That $37 was for a populated board BTW,... last I was quoted.

Since then, the design has changed and the foot print was decrease ALOT.
