    Offering My Services to AO

I haven't been on AO much lately, and i just heard about some problems people are having with getting Emag boards and other boards. I offered my services to someone before but they decided to do it themselves.

Anyway, if you have a project that you have in mind that needs a print circuit board made, contact me. Or if you need any electrical engineering support, again, contact me. I am a professional electrical engineer and have been for quite a while, I do these things for a living, and i can get a board done in a few hours if need be. If you have a EE need i can probably handle it. Depending on what your looking for, i'll do it for free, if it's something you would like to mass produce and make money on....well we can talk about that.

A little about me, I work for a company that makes custom power supplies for the military, commercial, industrial and more recently automotive. Right now I personally am engineering a 150KVA (225KVApk) power product for a semiconductor manufacturer, it's a ground up original design and i did %85 of it the other %15 is from my software engineer. I am very professional and i guarantee you will like my work.

Any comments/tips on my question about preventing the frying of my E-Mag board as experienced by other AO members, as asked in this thread?

This is the forum for trouble shooting your Airgun Designs products, including the Automag, RT, E-Mag, and WarpFeed. Also a great place to ask technical questions about non AGD products. An Airsmith's homeroom!

I am just a humble ME that doesn't remember any of his Circuits classes.

RobAGD's write-up is spot on, just make sure you use a dedicated wire right from the battery, and the mounting screw the board as a return. then no current will flow through the PCB and damage it, remember the Emag uses the gun's metal as a return just like a car. The only thing i could change from his write-up would be a smaller cap on the intput of the linear maybe like 10uF instead of the 100uF, putting that large of a cap on the input is overkill, and i would also add a 0.1uF ceramic capacitors to both the inputs and output of the linear, this will help keep the linear from oscillating and protect the linear.

Hey thanks for the reply, I already soldered 100uF capacitors to the regulator, it shouldn't hurt right?

I am not sure what this means. Do I need capacitors on the wires from the battery?

Also, any experience on the intellifeed/warp advance cable causing frying problems if I were to break the ground wire?

Don't mean to hijack your thread, if you prefer (and are inclined to) you can answer in PM or in my Tech Sections thread linked above.

the 100uF won't harm anything, it's just overkill.

the ceramic capacitors i recommended, are not a real necessity, it's more for long term reliability and stability, but if i where doing this for myself i would in stall them, but again it's up to you.

I'm not real familiar with the intellifee/warp cable issue other then what was mentioned on the thread you posted. But from what i've read, the problem was b/c the return current was routed thru the PCB rather then directly to the metal frame of the marker, next time do not use a pin on the PCB as a return or power for that matter.

posting here is fine, it can be public info.

Sorry, the part I did not understand was where to put the ceramic capacitors.

the circuit boards themselves cost, right? I am a teacher, and thinking about doing some electronics projects towards the end of the school year in one of my classes. Do you have any ideas on simple elecronic projects, also? You can pm me, and we can keep the conversation out of the thread if you want.

put it in parallel to the electrolytic
