I think htat there was a thread a few months back about this. It was comparing more than just the rotor and prophecy. I ended up with a prophecy for $100 right when the dropped the price. I too was considering the Rotor, but when it came down to it these were MY comparing points, and the Prophecy outweighed the Rotor in my opinion:
1. Price: Prophecy was $50 less - Pretty big factor
2. Capacity: Prophecy holds 240 stock, Rotor was sub 200 (I think like 175, right?) - This was another big factor for me. I don't mind the extra weight of paint in the hopper, and I love having an extra 60 or so shots. It allows me to shoot more before reloading, DUH!! haha
3. Size: Rotor is smaller and tighter and looks a little better, IMO. - Not a big factor, since the size difference isn't too much. You can find outline comparisons on PBN. They were pretty helpfull. They also did a huge comparison there about features.
4. Durability: Rotor appears to be more durable, but I saw the Empire video online and they took a hammer to the prophecy shells, and they didn't break. Enough for me - This was a wash
Overall, for me, the results skewed towards the Prophecy. Everyone has a difference opinion.
Also, notice that I didn't list anything about speed. I don't really care about that. I never play anything other than semi. IMO I feel like I am cheating if I use ramping or burst or full auto. And my fingers max out at 15bps. At least that is what the new XMag I got is saying. So I figured that both can easily sustain 15bps, so I was happy. Everyone is different, so when it comes down to it, it's your decision. But not a bad idea to hear everyone's reasons. That's what I did, then did my own analysis when I felt I had all of the facts. Good luck. Either way, I think you will be happy. Just a matter of whether you will be happy with an extra $50 in your pocket
