    I believe that the breech was done incorrectly and is flipped backwards.

          Unless your picture is reversed which I don't believe it is, the detent is on the "passenger" (wrong) side.

          All my X mags have the detent on the "drivers" side.

                      If the breech is in backward, how did you get the barrel in? I thought the barrel would only go in if the breech was in the correct way.

                            I'm wondering if it will function properly with the paintballs not dropping in the correct spot and the detent behind the paint when it falls.

                              No. Besides those 2 problems. The barrel can't thread in far enough. And the valve can't be installed.
