The guy leaves out a lot of fairly important factors. It's interesting, if you play paintball in a vacuum.

well there is no scientific journal for paintball testing. kinda hard to get in that then eh?Originally posted by wimaghave not seen any of your so called testing in any scientific journal. Thus your back yard, bedroom videos mean squat.
actually, thats half the point of PunkWorks in the first place, to build a community for paintball science, and more or less, its been fairly sucessful. we have yoda, ydna, jack wood, jack rice, spitlebug, lurker, bvdave, buex from techt, and many other poeple from the industry who post there. there are quite a few products out from companies which reflect and cite punkworks tests, and few comming through the pipeline as well.
you can check out our tests at www.punkworkspaintball.com, and each test has a link to a discussion thread on our forums, so feel free to comment, protest, or lend your support. be more then happy to see other poeple doing tests too and if you want tips on test design, statisitical analysis or anything else, we are more then happy to help. or you can post your own tests, data or critical analysis if you want to."because every vengeful cop with a lesbian daughter, is having a bad day, and looking for someone to blame"

the automag works best with barrels between 8" & 10" i think, right?Originally posted by robertsr1811I always get the giggles when I see the 14 and 16 inch barrels on the field, especially in woodsball. I've never really shot anything longer than a 12 myself. Most of my guns run 10 inch barrels. But then again I've only been playing for 22 years, so what do I know.

Yep. Overboring is a good plan in warm, humid environments - your efficiency won't be exceptional but you'll have fewer barrel breaks. Unfortunately "comprehensive" barrel tests don't address temperature or humidity, so those "facts" about the best barrel for your situation don't really apply here.Originally posted by 2BAD4Uthe reason i ask about the bore size is beacause i've heard that its best 2 use bigger bore sized barrels when playing in miami, due 2 the hot hot weather...

the S3 barrels from PE were based on our testing showing the impact of longer backs on spool valve type guns. you can talk to jack wood about it, hes a pertty good friend of ours.Originally posted by wimagcite them.
I have your vids in the past. A step up from Webdog I will admit.
the lurker barrel was based on an idea we had a while ago to make a barrel called the punkworks special. we decided that making paintball products was not what PW was about so we abandoned the idea, and lurker decided to make them under his name.
the new upcomming stuff i cannot say. and there is more that we had less (or less direct) impact on, but its out there."because every vengeful cop with a lesbian daughter, is having a bad day, and looking for someone to blame"

Used to ref in miami. It all depends on the field. Most fields down there that are open these days are indoors and feature AC pro shops. So there won't be any problems. Keep the paint in the trunk of your car, or under the shade, and it shouldn't swell.
Although, I do always overbore, and never had any issues down there.
Edit: and by overbore I meant .689. Can't believe how large of a bore people are shooting these days (nor how small).
