Has anyone ever separated the tip from their LX bolt?

I'm pretty sure that's how they were made...but what did AGD use to seal them together? Adamantium filler rod?

The tip of the bolt? What are you trying to do?

Take measurements and possibly make an extended bolt for use in a custom gun. I want an extra 3/4" of bolt length, so I'm trying to unravel its inner mysteries.

The only ones I've read about were dropped on concrete. I think they were press fit, which explains the slight bulge in that area in some of them. The freezer and then a torch might help.

You could also heat it first and then cool the tip quickly.

If only you could get your hands on some liquid CO2 ........

            Press fit...ugh.

Maybe I'll just stick to Level 7.

The dimensions for the LevelX bolts are in the Slug CAD file on hidden layers. Shoot me your email address and I'll send you a copy of the CAD file.

they are pres fit i heard a story from a tech that he tried every thing to fix the gun and finally in frustration slammed the bolt tail on the counter and put it back in the gun to find out that was the problem.

                thought it should be known

Awesome, thanks guys. TK replied to my email and said that they actually brazed the L7 bolts together. Pretty incredible.

Yoda, I may just take you up on that.

And that would explain why we never noticed bulges in the front of bolts until the level 10.

So, a "newer" L10 should be brazed and not press fit?

Yes. And to my knowledge, there are only 2 designs of the Level 10 bolt. The 1st gen, and what there is now.

I did not want to hijack this thread but maybe this has something to do with it.

Today I received my XMag (with EMag Valve and Level10) and an XValve with LVL10.

As I checked them I saw that the plunger of one of the Level10 bolts is much longer than on the other Level10 bolt.

Also the bolt with the longer plunger is 2 gramms lighter (33,7g) as the other one (36g).

The plungers are tight and did not wobble...

                            Two pics:

                            Idea anyone?

Sorry for my ignorance but I guess that happens when English is your second language. What's brazing?

                              Thanks,

                              Mendel.
