I thought about that too but it would indeed flake. I was thinking perhaps applying powder to the machined surface then removing the powder off the face leaving it in the groove, but that would be real tricky. Guys, an anno guy should have no problem anodizing these. The "coloring" of the anodized part is just a dying process that can be controlled. The dye can be applied with a syringe into the groove so it can be a different color than the face.
Sending you the plates before the engraving creates more work than you realize.
