it can, but it's a lot of work to polish a stainless steel body. frankly i'd leave it as-is, and buy a nice clamping feed neck for it, if you don't already have one.Comment

The gray is just a bead blasted finish. You can polish it to a nice mirror finish with a bit of elbow grease. Wet sanding works best. Start with a 320 grit paper to sand out the bead finish, and then go to 600, followed by 1500 grit. If you want, you can even go one step farther with 3000 grit. After the 1500 or 3000 grit paper, apply a polishing compound and buff it with a cloth. You'll have a mirror finish. I did one and it looked better than the factory polished body I had, so I polished the factory shine and made it even better.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment
