    I'm not sure I want to incorporate that directly into the rail because it deviates too much from the norm but it is an interesting idea.

    So just a thought. What if you made the slot in the bottom of the tax rail the same specs as an MLOK slot for real steel? You would be able to use a large number of vertical foregrips without much modification to the current design. You can also use a 3-slot rail section off the shelf and not need to mill your own.Click image for larger version

    The difference I've seen so far between my Picatinny rail and others out there, is how they mount. Mine will mount like a standard foregrip meaning it would have two 10-32 threaded holes in it. It looks like others just a have a 'through hole' for the screws and whatever you attach it to would need to be threaded. Not sure if that helps with your question or not(?)
