while i was at the factory tom was talking to ben tippmann on the phone about this gun. Now basically tom said he liked the idea except for the feed system and would probally make something military looking(as the minimag was to resemble a real gun) if tippmann did well with thiers.
New tippmann...

Personally I think the A-5 will be a wonderful gun.
People are saying that it looks like the grip is made of cheap plastic, and overall wouldn't be a good purchase. If I have learned ONE thing throughout my time playing paintball it would be LOOKS DON'T MATTER! Remember the first time you saw a Z-Grip on a Mag, didn't look extermely uncomfortable and unappealing? Then when you felt it, it felt great.
As for the 15 bps debate, arn't RT mags supposed to get to 26 bps? Well, how many people do you see out there shooting that fast? It is possible to feed/ fire that fast, but no one will be able to do it until other upgrades com out.
Feild Stripping: Look at the Model 98... 6 screws that had to come out before you could look at the internals. took damn near 20 minutes to disassemble and reassemble the marker. This is an OUTSTANDING upgrade from Tippmann...
Yeah the price is a bit steep, but isn't everything when it comes out? Just 3 months ago a HALO was 130 bucks, now you can get them for around 100. Pro/Carbines and 98's were around the 250 and 200 range respectively. Now what are they, 120 for a 98 and 150 for a carbine. Now thats a price drop. Don't be stupid and buy one right away, wait for the price to drop, and any bugs to be worked out on it.
Anyway, I guess what I am trying to say is that I have no opinion of this marker yet. I want to hold, feel and fire one before I get am opinion.Hey Zero, how much did that Chipley cost ya?

All they said was that it can FIRE that fast... not that it will remain consistant or not chop balls... But until I hold one, I will find hard to believe it can go that fast STOCK, but maybe with other upgrades, like an electronic add in kit, or RT, which will come later...Hey Zero, how much did that Chipley cost ya?

I like the idea of an adjustable foregrip. I thought that the one on the M98 was too far forward and made it difficult to get into tight positions.
As to the grip being cheap plastic, I can assure you they are not. If that grip is anything like Tippmann is use to manufacturing it will withstand years of abuse.
Now the integral feeder is just a brilliant marketing idea. Yes some will break down eventually and you will have to repair them to continue playing. But Tippmann knows that you will have to come to them for parts. Eventually there may be other competition for them as there is today with the various hoppers, but till then they have the market cornered.
