I agree with Miscue. Keep your gun in good working order and do your talking with the business end. My Micro RT chops no paint. Every time I play at least one person asks me if it's shooting on full auto.Comment

Cockers arent that bad its the people shooting them
i actually like the way the cocker shoots and looks but i like the way the mag shoots and is realiable even though everytime i go and play somthing goes wrong with me or my gun lol i just have bad luck

The only unkind word ive ever heard about a gun in person was about a cocker. Store owner said "Ah you got an Auto-Chopper there" and giggled. Kinda annoyed me since that was MY gun I brought into the store! But nobody has ever said anything about my mag, and so far Ive gotten a couple compliments on my Emag.Quote of the year: "Reading blwos"

last time i was at top gun was almost exclusively rentals, tippmans, and spyders. there was three cockers and no mags except for my retro. one of them was a dye cocker. everybody ignored the dye cocker and was asking me about my mag.
pretty strange i thought. i must've explained everything on my mag like 20 times that day. of course even though they liked my mag they had no respect for me as a player. i got shot out every game. they dubbed me the guy who's always making the crazy moves. i told them i got shot out every game cause i was way up front every game. the kid said he was up front too but he didn't get shot out. "well how come i didn't see you? cause you were behind me that's why." lol. i wasn't even really doing anything that crazy. in fact they were quite good agressive moves. if someone would take advantage of the fact that i moved up and then i pinned down half the opposing team then we would've won a lot more games.
but i would get shot out cause it would be basically me against the entire opposing team. oh well. i hate sitting in the same bunker for long periods of time.

All my friends don't like mags...
The thing is, my friends give me reasons like, "They don't look good", "they are too unpopular", "I don't like getting bad comments about my gun", etc... They know they shoot well as long as it's powerfeed and they all LOVE the emag but they don't buy them because of the peer pressure.

Cockers are awesome guns. I love emags. but id take a free flow cocker over an emag. Emag extreme i dunno.** Your image was deleted because a huge ass "protection image" comes up. The site hosting that image doesnt allow for other sites to pull from it. Like Angelfire. So host it some where else or maybe attach it to a friendly corner post and link it from there. I've only ever encountered gun bashing online; it doesn't seem to exist at the fields I play at.
There are envious stares from people at the expensive gear, but no snobbery towards the guys with tippmans, spyders, mags, etc.
FWIW.

A friend of mine who owns a tippy 98 was putting down my mag. well after a heated conversation when he tried to get the point accross that because his gun works all the time and i always have to tinker with my mag. well i told him i tinker with my mag cause i have no life. Then i asked him how mony times i have shot him with my mag... he got quiet. then replied with 2 or 3, so i started counting off the different times i shot him on my fingers. i think i came up with 12 i could remember. he said so what. Then i asked him how many times he shot me... he got quiet. then he said, well it has to be more then five. so i told him to name them off... he got quiet. so i corrected him by saying that he's shot me once, my first time playing, i had a pump w/ 3 10rd tubes, and he had to chase me after i ran out of balls.
then he got mad and kicked me out of his house. he hasnt played with me for 3 months.sigpicComment
Thats the opistie where i am.... I live near Coffey and a few others and almost everyone has a mag. If they don't have a mag at least everyone i know has respect for them. The guys i paintball with all want my mag so bad that they'd steal it if they could. Also i went into my pb shop and purposely brought in my mag to show it off. The first reaction i got when i walked in was "O wow here comes a stud!"
The shop owner came pout with his mag and everyone got out theres and we messed around with them.
I guess i just don't have those cocker jocks (lol) where i am.

I love autocockers. They are my favorite guns. I have owned a few, but i am currently shooting a stock 2K2 vert, because it is fun and i love upgrading and tinkering with autocockers. I am in know way a cocker jock. I have great respect for automags and all other paint markers. My front man shoots an automag, and i like the gun alot. If decide to stop spending all my money on autocockers, some day i would like to put together a nice warp fed RT. I also have great respect for mag owner's and tom kaye, because i spend most of my time browsing this forum over pbnation and pbc, because this forum is where the most intelligent conversations are.-team grim-Comment

I owuld like to raise the question regarding this view people have of mags. Being new to the PB world (about two years), I'm confused of where this supposed rep came from. Did the mag at anytime in the past have a bad history that is perpetuated to this day.
When buying my first gun - Cost was not the issue. I was looking for reliability, something I could figure out and work with and not the basic beginner guns being recommended. The Minimag 'fit the bill' perfectly. To this day I continue to use my mag. (yes I've changed it a little but as we all know they were more cosmetic changes). Black body, benchmark trigger, macroline and an assortment of drop forwards. I'm still looking for the perfect drop forward that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Back to my point. I did purchase a cocker after awhile and continue to shrot stroke during play. The solution I'm being given is to purchase all new parts. Basically, replace all parts to get what I want.
Look when I buy something I expect a minimal level of function from it, then add enhacnements later.
My black mag has progressed with my development of play. I only need to work on my game, NOT MY GUN.Comment
