How much Paint do you shoot? ( Information for a future project.)

When I go for a full day at an outdoor field I ususally shoot about 1300 balls.

well if i dont have a budget ive been known to shoot about a case and a half, but im a back player and i love to shoot, and my angels have all made that easy, i usually fill my 5.4 reds with all 9 pods and then just go play

and last time i played it was tourny/team play

Paint usage

We play hopper ball to save paint. On those days I can usually play all day on a 1/2 case. If we go into the woods, or load up pods I'll throw a lot more - mostly because I tend to play back.
I'd say a case if I'm playing speedball for real (with pods). I've played big games in the woods and shot 1 1/2 case easily, even as much as 2 cases.

in one outing, i usually try to limit myself to about a 1000, but if i have some more paint i ususaly shoot about 1300, this is playing rec ball and speedball in one day.

Paint Use

6hr practice = 1.5 cases

Tourney = 3-5 cases depending on field type, quality of paint and if we make it to Sunday.

Just havin' fun = hopper ball with the open play players = 300-600 for 2-3 hours


Tourney estimates are tough... I've shot as much as 4.5 cases and as little as 1.5 cases in a day.

Ok, is there a dictionary for all the terminology that goes with paintball? I don't quite know what people mean when they say "hopper ball," my idea of speedball is on a 40-50 yards by 40-50 yards field with wooden spindles. correct if I'm wrong. Hyperball is the round construction looking pipes. And of course the wood fields is just that in wooded area. I'm not getting the rest though.

hopper ball is when you dont take any pods on the field, you know that carry paint, your just limited to the 200 ni your hopper

In a complete day of play, I expend roughly 3/4 to a case of paintball. In rec play, I primarily serve the purpose, for lack of a better term, of fire support. People call for help and I go and provide heavy type of gun fire support. I also enjoy small group and single person tactics, but I rarely shoot more than 500 rounds in those cases.
