AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
I don't think so, What they were useing is called simunition, You replace the barrel and slide of a real gun and convert it to shoot those special rounds.
Simunition is used alot in law enforcement training as a cheeper subistitute to the MILES gear that the military uses. The paint flys at a much faster fps and special gear like what they were wearing tonight is needed to prevent any serious injuries.
Don't try running, you will only give me a better story!
That's pretty cool. MILES gear sux big one. It breaks to much, leaves stop the lasers so you can use bushes as cover, and the relay box on your helmet and back pack hit when you try to go prone and it's very annoying. So when your advancing foward and you go to drop into to prone the 2 boxes hit and drop your helmet into your face.
Been there, Done that! I hated haveing to go prone with the 60 and fight with the MILES as well. I have played with Simunition and it is really cool but you have to wear some really bulky padding. It is almost impratical for military use due to the fact that you would have to wear full face shields, a bulky padded armor along with the rest of your gear. I have seen some sim rounds actually rip through BDU's if they are fired close enough.

Obsolete, don't forget the cheaters that pull out the batteries!
I use to have a god-gun I scored at a DRMO auction, but my old commander from 10 years ago snagged it from me while out in the field. Bummer too, we were winning big! (can't imagine why.....)
Silent kills / kills when you're out of blanks: just tap the sensor that triggers the laser with your fingertips. and you'll shoot ;-)
And simunitions hurt big time!!!

im gonna agree miles gear sucks.
try being a mortar and wearing your rucksak on top of that miles gear box...we always turned it around backward so the box was in front but that wasnt great either, the thing that bugged me the most was taking it off cause wed wear it over our lbe and the hooks would always get caught on something and what not, but you gotta love that first piece of pizza and shower and beer after 30 days in the field not to mention a real toliet.....sorry giving out to much info
ya real war is nothing like paintball. i wish they came out with a system that was like a real gun with charecterist of a real gun. (IE range, abbility to pass through objects...ect) cause paintballs will break on a twig and MILES can be blocked easily. where as a 223 can go through many twigs. O well for now paintball and video games will have to do. ( hopfully il be trying airsoft too)
I find the "Peon" comment rather offensive.

Shartley is definatley right, MILES is the best system that we have. It's just a problem of ergonomics. When we use it it's mainly for force on force. Basically it's to train our guys in the protection of our convoys. We have the convoy of the Muns troops and all the security forces and we have the bad guys and we go at it. The coolest thing is when we have insider threats. Never done that but been told its pretty cool.
