Cage Match: Shatner.com Vs Automags.org at WLIPP (details)

Trekies and Borgs,

In our never ending saga of internet entertainment brought to you by your friends at AO, we will do the first ever Internet Cage Match at the WLIPP.

A fight spectacular will go on in the two forums between two Champions. One Champion from Shatner.com and one Champion from Automags.org will be selected to have a battle of the keyboards....to the death (crash?)!!!

The AO champion, alone at his keyboard with the rest of the world watching, will be required to upload as many posts as possible to a single thread on AO while his counterpart on the Shatner forum does the same. They will each get the same amount of time to enter as many posts as possible and at a prescribed time their posts will no longer count.

The champion with the most posts wins a prize and the glory and adoration of his forum!! Hail the champions!! So the crowd is not left out they can email which side they think will win and how many posts they will enter. Guesing the winning side and post count for that champion will get you a prize too!

In order to make it fair we will not announce the posting specifics until fight time.

Trekies are you game?? Got Champion??

i say we need to test typing speed and chose the top one. We need screenshots or something from a typing program. any sort of free program out there we can test with. I know I toped out at 98 wpm back in the day.

another consideration is net connection. For fastest postings a high speed connection would be best. Those are the only stratigies i can think of.

I am so game for this!! I know cable doesn't sound that great under most conditions, BUT, there ARE NOT many people in my area w/ it, so I get more bandwidth than most people!! Bwahahaha!! I've got it planned out already how to get the max amount of posts. Load, AGD, Tuna, Army, Mods... someone like that, I don't wanna post & risk the trekkie's stealing my idea(s)!!

I have medical transcriptionist in my camp that can type 130 words a minute....can anyone else do it faster than that?

My mom types 120 WPM, and I can beat her in a head to head typing contest. (She still insists that since she can transcribe faster, shes a better typist, oh well :) )

But typing speed doesn't matter. What matters is posting speed. We need to find who has the fastest connection. Cable or DSL is fast, but I'm SURE we should be able to find someone with a T3 or faster around here somewhere.

I suggest JLove or Paintcheck (same person) he hosts the forum and probably has a seat right next to the server
