LMAO!!!!!!
Tom, the ones that read "Zach" are me. I put them in before you explained the convention for naming submissions.
Edit: Correction, 56, 57, and 58 are mine. The other "zach" is someone else.Last edited by Patron God of Pirates; 05-24-2002, 09:33 AM.

Very true. It's good though. I think some of these should be saved for magazine ads as well. I'm kinda surprised there isn't one with a half naked woman saying "Oh yeah, what can you do 26 times a second?"

It was a mistake for me to enter.
I am not an educated man. I am not in advertisement. I entered for my own amusement, to let people in on my own little jokes, not to win. But I also entered under the pretense that it was a contest of merit and skill.
I am not a great many things, but I am a man of principle. The idea that someone can be rewarded for work that was substandard or unacceptable for the task it was to be assigned does not sit well in my mind. The phrase used, "We may or may not use the winner but they will still win the gun!" Satisfies only one maxim: rule of the masses. Work no longer has to reach a minimum standard of practicality as long as it reaches an "artistic" favor of this owners group. An artistic favor that has no bearing on the origional intent of the contest.
I apologize if I offended anyone's sensibilities, but if the one that "wins" is not the one that is used, what merit goes to the person whose billboard fit the necessary stipulations, and excelled above the rest, but was not deemd worthy of due pay for his work?
Only in this modern world can we expect the man who comes in second to receive a prize, and the man who truly creates to bow his head.[*img]http://userpic.livejournal.com/11885469/469200[/img]

I think that the reason Tom pointed that out is simply because as he said, there were a lot of entries where people didn't think that you only veiw the billboard for about 5 seconds.
If you take that into account, a few of those billboards don't make any sense. some of them have what could be seen as too much text, some of them have confusing backrounds that draw away from the central idea of the billboard.
If those are the ones that AO sees as the best, AGD would be doing themselves a disservice to put them on a billboard. However, Tom will honor his original "Most popular billboard recieves an RTPro." He may decide not to use that billboard though.
I would hope that if he does decide not to use the winners billboard that he will take it upon himself or an outside source to design the actual one. I for one agree that giving "Little Billy" the prize because AO thinks his design is the coolest, and then uses "Frank's" billboard may infact be an honor to Frank, but doesn't make a lot of sense.
This could have been averted if AGD sifted through the entries and removed those that they would not put on a billboard. However that would have caused even more problems and accusations.
Perhaps this is the best way to deal with it after all.
