I'll be hitting the surplus store this week too...

My Tiger-stripe pants are worn out after only two years of solid paintball usage... gonna try to find Urban Camo!

I'll check them for smoke too... I had forgotten about them as a possible source.

Did everyone get a copy of the rules and an explination of how scenario games work?

it's up to Tom, but I'm willing to be help out as a medic, recon, or retrieve.

I also hope to get (4) Motorola radios if needed.

        Laws rocket

I would say bring the law that does not work. thier is a chance we can get it fixed. Besides as talking from a tankers point of view. If I see a guy out front carrying a law I have no idea if it works or not. But he will attract alot of attention from me untill he is out.

Naturally taking out a command center is a huge accomplishment, my point is simply that we shouldn't take it upon ourselves to attempt a feat without some serious planning beforehand. I just don't want Scenario rookies to come into the game with the "Rambo" idea of taking a command center with 5 people.

i tried that at a Dollack game once...

lets just say I'm not stupid enough to try it again... i was in pain for a couple hours afterwards...

As Tom's AO Elite we HAVE to be VERY organized if we want to win all of our missions, perhaps Tom can put us under the direct command of Wayne or another experienced General... that way if the poopoo hits the fan, we can react quickly and clean up the mess that our normal players might not be able to handle.(by normal i mean the people who just want to shoot at stuff).

As much as we need to make sure we work togather to finish missions, we need to remember that we are fighting a war on two fronts. That means we need to focus on command defence almost as much as we do the missions. If we lose our command post and have to fight to get it back it will leave us at a big disadvantage when it comes to fielding troops to the missions. My suggestion is to split into two betallions. One to run missions, the other will task a company to the first, and the rest will act as command post security and possibablly run short clearing or seek and destroy missions out of the command post.

Also, we need to think about trying to get a large unit togather before we leave the clearing point. That way we can fight our way out in force instead of just one or two at a time. If the rules allow I would suggest possibablly recycleing, and while keeping our barrel plugs in make our way to the command post and reinsert from that point. That way our commanders can keep track of the avaliable forces for defence purposes as well as fielding missions.
Don't try running, you will only give me a better story!

We are a very small arm on a very large body! It would be nice to get some input from Tom, Wayne or Budd. Perhaps we should nominate a liason to pester the hell out of Tom about what AO's role will be in this game.

We should definately cover Base defense as a whole for a little while. It could really help us defensively to have a large group of people who are farmiliar to each other (even in name only.)

Everyone keeps talking of having only one group to do missions. If missions are sent in every 15 minutes, then we may be short on mission runners. I guessing not every mission is going to stay under 15 minutes. What we might want to do is split into groups. If you are not on a mission, you are guarding the base camp. If a mission comes in, the next group heads out. When any group is done with a mission, they head back and wait their turn for their next mission.

just found this too. not sure if it's supposed to be a tank, or just some silly thing that will sit in the parking lot.trekkie stuff

And another thing people forget is that we are not the entire team! There is likely to be 1000 people on our team, so we will be a very small group of players. We will not be involved in every mission.

Personally, I will probably go on a mission and then pull base defense for an hour then do another mission. Base defense should be rotated that way so everyone gets to participate in a few mission while our base is secure. Besides, once in a while base defense gets involved in some awesome firefights.

                    ~Fred

PS There are a few flag stations near our base that we may stretch our perimeter around. If we do that we cut the field in half and make the chances of awesome firefights very likely!

That thing looks like it could be pretty dangerous... good thing I can run faster than 5 mph... unless of course i get to be anti-tank... in which case I can just blast the big white crate back into the parking lot! whoot!

I think it should be a priority to take that thing out ASAP every time it makes it onto the field...

                            Trecky Wonder Wagon

Dont let the size bother you. It holds 5 people. One drives and plays with the stereo. One trys to load the cannon and fire it. A couple shoot out the holes in the sides. Its big slow and cumbersome. It will make a big easy fat target. Just like me. Who ever is running the anti tank gun at our fort at the time this thing comes rumbling in will be hurting it bad. It will be like hitting a bull in the #$% with a banjo. And if you miss, who ever fires it. You will not live that down for a long time. It will be like throwing your self at the ground.
If you look on Armoredfistpaintball.com it is the Tiger tank from long Island run by TJ Alcot and his crew. A good bunch to play against and alot more fun watching them go back to the desplat zone!!

I have my launcher up and running for artillery and Anti-Tank duties. I havn't had a chance to get alot of practice with it but I should be able to do some damage. I may be able to talk my field owner into letting me use some of our bazookas. If so I will need to make sure we get them back but I could probablly talk him into it. They are muzzle loaded and very long and cumbersom but will shoot the S--- out of paintballs and grenades. They also can be switched to a mortar tube by unscrewing the long bazooka barrell and adding a shorter, wider mortar barrell.

As for the defence of the base. I know we will be slightly under 1000 players but if we can split the force into 2 units of about 500 each, one unit can run longer missions out of the command base while the other can provide base security and set up observation post and short range patrols and missons. That way we will have a large force at hand to defend the base at all times but still have players out on the field for the missions. Also, rotateing the players so everyone can do mssions and base defence would help keep everyone happy.

I have every faith in the world that Wayne and Tom will have a helluva plan for base security and mission compleation but it is always nice to throw out a suggestion to two. Especially when you know your glorious commander is known to check out these threads from time to time.

ya know, after viewing all the talk of these anti-tank weapons and such, I want to sign up for some anti-tank duty with a Bazooka or RL. I'm thinking we catch the tanks mid-way to our base or wherever they're headed so as not to fight them near/in our base. Of course I don't want to do this all day long, I want to get some action in on the front lines. Basically wherever I'm needed..
